Ch. 3

Reference Material 3 (Diagrams) 20170917

I decided to include illustrations and concept images for the tools and other items that appeared in the story.

05-05 Flexible Kite

These were the diagrams for the Flexible Kite that Jin created in Moft Village.

They could actually be flown. Materials as thin as plastic bags were perfectly fine, but the areas around the bridle required sufficient reinforcement.

Otherwise, the eyelets would tear.

It was fun to draw letters or illustrations on them with markers.

From a distance, they looked like rectangular kites, so Japanese-style designs suited them well.

Kites were to be flown in areas without high-voltage power lines and away from hazards like cars or trains.

Nidou Castle

I did a quick (well, almost) cleanup of some rough design notes and scribbles on my PC.

No consideration was given to the actual mechanical structural materials.

While there were plenty of points open to criticism, I hoped they would serve as a simple reference while reading the main text.

Konron 2

This was a rough sketch of the airship, Konron 2.

I hoped it would serve as a helpful visual reference.

I apologize; I struggled with them quite a bit, but these were the current diagrams for Nidou Castle.

I hoped readers would enjoy filling in the details that didn't affect the story using their own imagination.

If I had tried to draw proper technical blueprints, the updates for this work might have ground to a halt, which would have been putting the cart before the horse... orz

20170917 Correction

In the front view of Konron 2, the position of the thrusters was corrected, as they had been shown in a "+" configuration instead of "×".
