While Kaito was at the Victor Trading Company discussing his custom brushes, two figures were strolling through the city’s commercial district.
"Hmm, everything feels so fresh, so novel. Since I obtained this split body, I’ve developed quite a fondness for sightseeing."
"Well, at your usual size, you couldn't exactly waltz into a city without a care. To you, I bet even the most mundane sights look like rare treasures."
"Quite so. Until now, it was physically impossible for me to shrink to such dimensions. While I was content with my lot at the time, now that I have experienced this world through a smaller lens, I feel as though I have squandered a vast amount of time... Though, I suppose I would never have obtained this form had I not taken an interest in mortal cities and their entertainment."
"No use crying over spilled milk. You’ve got the body now, and you’re free to roam, so you might as well enjoy yourself to the limit. Since Nizbel and Eingana went out of their way to invite us to this orchestra performance, you don't need to think about complicated stuff."
"Indeed, that is true."
One was a distinguished, silver-haired gentleman with a calm, refined air; the other was a young girl with winding horns who, despite her small stature, exuded a terrifying aura of raw power. They were Magnawell’s split body and Megiddo in his human form.
Their presence in the city was simple: Nizbel and Eingana, who were themselves reveling in their newfound mobility through split bodies, had invited Magnawell to a symphony. Megiddo, who happened to be drinking with the Dragon King at the time, had decided to tag along.
Since there was still time before the orchestra's performance, the group had split up—Nizbel and Eingana in one pair, Magnawell and Megiddo in the other—to wander the streets at their leisure.
"...By the way, Megiddo, why are you currently inhabiting that young girl form?"
"Oh, this? Kaito seems to like it. It makes sense if you look at Kuromueina or Shaltier; I guess he just has a type. I’ve been using this form more often lately so that it’s easier for him to hold me whenever the mood strikes him. Honestly, it surprised even me, but I might be the devoted type once I’ve actually fallen for someone!"
"I am not entirely sure 'devoted' is the correct term... but I suppose I know little of romance. Just see to it that you do not incur the wrath of Kuromueina or Shaltier again."
"Ugh, the whole thing is just so damn indirect. I’m crazy about Kaito, and it’s not like he hates me, so I honestly think just jumping into bed would be the fastest way to settle things... but whatever. Taking it slow is fun in its own way. So, Magnawell, where to next? I’ve hit this city up a few times, so I can show you around if you have a destination in mind."
"Oh? Is that so? I was under the impression you had a distaste for the Arclesia Empire."
Magnawell’s understanding was that Megiddo tended to dislike the Arclesia Empire due to its rigid aristocratism, making it hard to imagine him visiting its cities frequently.
"Nah, I don't hate the whole place. In fact, I’ve taken a liking to the current Empress. She’s pushing through all these reforms with a real drive to flip the country on its head. I like that spirit. The guy before her was total garbage, though... If Kuromueina hadn't explicitly told me to stand down, I would have gutted him ages ago."
"The Former Emperor? I have little recollection of him... I remember only a vague sense of him being a petty man."
"Those types are the most irritating—the ones who don't have the guts for grand-scale villainy but spend their lives scurrying around for petty, underhanded profit. If I’d run into him anywhere outside the Hero Festival, I probably would have beaten him within an inch of his life. Anyway, I actually like this city. The previous Count Sharon had some real balls; he pushed through some incredibly daring policies. They might be common sense now, but back then, they were revolutionary. I admired that. I guess the Sharon family has played it safe lately since things stabilized, but back then, they knew how to gamble."
"If they have found stability without the need for gambling, then surely that is for the best," Magnawell remarked.
"Heh... I guess so."
Megiddo nodded with a wry smile. He generally favored those with a challenging spirit and respected those who could back up their gambles with success, so he held the Sharon Count House in relatively high regard.
"So, where are we heading?"
"Hmm, I find myself craving coffee. I’ve grown quite fond of it lately. It’s fascinating how much the flavor changes from shop to shop."
"Coffee, huh? I know a few spots that'll knock your socks off. I'll lead the way."
"Ho-ho! Then I shall let my expectations soar."
The two Six Kings strolled through the streets, laughing merrily. At that moment, no one could have guessed that their presence alone was about to ravage Cornelia's stomach to its absolute limit.
Serious-senpai: "Ah... It's all over, Cornelia... She's about to run headfirst into two Six Kings and two high-ranking Executives all at the same time... T-this... this is the true, terrifying power of the One-hit Kill Type..."
