Ch. 73

Section 3

"Here I go," Sherry declared, swinging her mace.

Sherry was the newest member of our party. She was small, petite, and adorable, yet she was a woman of the powerful Dwarf race.

She was one of the combat slaves I’d bought after finding myself stranded in this alternate world. Beyond combat, she had certainly proven herself useful in other capacities.

Yes, quite a few of them.

The mace, swung from the side to just barely graze the left wall, sent two monsters swarming in front of her flying. This time, it even connected with a third one that had been facing off against Roxanne, knocking it off balance.

As the Collagen Coral stumbled, Roxanne immediately lunged with her scimitar. A fourth monster on the flank tried to exploit the opening by pouncing on her, but Roxanne effortlessly evaded the attack with a subtle twist of her right shoulder, parrying it with ease.

The Collagen Coral tried to pull back in a panic, but that was when my magic struck. Embers danced through the air, incinerating the creature.

The monsters collapsed. They were wiped out—including the Naive Olive that had tried to close the distance again after being knocked back by Sherry. Every last one of them was down.

"Alright. That’s that."

I gathered the drops left by the monsters, stashed them in my Item Box, and took a breather.

We could hold our own. I was finally starting to sync up with Sherry, and our coordination meant we could handle battles without any real issues. While I wouldn't call it easy, we were fighting without any major hitches. I rarely took any hits myself.

After all, I spent most of my time stationed in the rear guard.

To think I'd once been so consumed by anxiety and tension after falling into this world—had I finally found some peace of mind? I felt a genuine sense of progress in these Labyrinth battles.

Once we left the Labyrinth, I headed to the Quratar Adventurer Guild to sell off our loot.

This was our primary source of income for now. Considering the risk of an injury leaving us unable to fight, it would be ideal to have some other way to earn a living, but I suppose that would be asking for too much.

"Excuse me. You're an Adventurer, right?"

While I was busy selling the items and ruminating on our finances, the Receptionist spoke up.
