Canalis listened to Electrone’s explanation and accepted it for what it was. In truth, she had mostly come over simply because an acquaintance was nearby, but once they met, she couldn’t help but be distracted by Electrone's full-blown superfan attire.
Whether she had actually received a satisfying answer regarding that outfit was another matter, but she decided it would be too much trouble to dig deeper. She let the subject drop.
"Still, it's a relief to have someone like you, the Cyber God, looking after cyberspace. Tahaa... Honestly, there are so many groups vying for the chance to protect Kaito-sama that almost anyone could have stepped up, but still..."
"Correction requested. <Canalis! I've told you a thousand times, don't use a name as uncute as 'Cyber God'! If you're going to call me something, I want you to call me Cyber Angel Electrone-chan!> ...End of broadcast. I expect improvement."
"The whiplash between your settings is so severe I think the temperature difference is going to give me a cold... Putting that aside, Electrone, were you second or third in the queue?"
The order Canalis referred to was the sequence in which the gods would visit Trinia to see Nebula and Kaito. The World Creator known as the Bipolar God had been the very first acquaintance Canalis reached with Nebula's message, and by moving immediately, they had secured the first slot.
After that, the others received the messages and instructions... and a truly cataclysmic scramble unfolded for the turn after the Bipolar God.
While the order itself was settled through a simple game of Rock-Paper-Scissors, it was a contest between World Creators of unfathomable power. They had poured so much into the match that, without strict precautions, the resulting aftershocks would have obliterated tens of thousands of worlds. After that legendary duel, Electrone had emerged victorious, claiming the runner-up spot.
Many of the World Creators who adored Nebula had formed a Kaito fan club, establishing various agreements and contracts among themselves. They had carefully drafted restrictions and precautions for when they visited Trinia or greeted Kaito.
Because of this, even though Electrone was nearby, she refrained from greeting Kaito directly, focusing solely on her "oshi-katsu" observation for the time being. Incidentally, the fan club was massive, consisting of multiple factions based on specific tastes, with each faction constantly negotiating to synchronize their various treaties.
"Affirmative. This unit’s turn follows the Bipolar God. Continuing... outputting small talk. <∇∮◆£ mentioned that the current waiting period feels like the longest in their existence. Since Kaito-sama’s vocal cords physically cannot pronounce their name, they've apparently come up with a separate name for when they eventually meet him.> ...As a side note, I should add that they were practicing their swings with the intent of slamming Canalis with a Dimensional Collapse Combo."
"...Hie... I wish they’d spare me. If I accidentally forget to heal my body, Kaito-sama gets worried. Tahaa, just a while ago, I got hit by a Combined World-Slicing Chop and forgot to fix the damage, which caused him quite a lot of distress. I mean, I’m a god myself, so that level of impact isn't even an injury, but putting that aside, Kaito-sama’s kindness really touched my heart... I didn't forget on purpose, mind you, but it certainly felt like a win for me."
"..."
"It was quite something. After I finally fixed myself up, we ended up having tea together. I got to hear all about Kaito-sama's recent life and thoroughly enjoyed our time alone together. Tahaa, that kind of happiness could easily become addictive."
Though her expression remained a stoic mask, Canalis spoke with a voice that betrayed her delight. Electrone listened quietly until she finished, then spoke.
"Outputting warning. <Canalis? If you intend to brag about your love life any further in front of a hardcore Kaito-lover like me, you'd better be prepared for the consequences. Yeah, how should I put this... I’m just too jealous... so I’m going to punch you!!> ...End of broadcast. Commencing execution."
"Wait, what?! You said it was a warning, but you're skipping straight to the punch?! C-Calm dow—"
Though she had teased her about the outfit, Canalis was a self-proclaimed fan herself, and once the topic turned to Kaito, she naturally had plenty to say.
The consequences of accidentally letting slip a recent happy memory were obvious... and Canalis’s scream soon echoed throughout the digital void.
Serious-senpai: "...Now that I think about it, didn't Kaito decide to hold a lottery to pick a few Creators for birthday presents? I can already sense a bout of stomach pain coming for him..."
