How should one define it? A glitch in cyberspace, a fragment of lingering malice... Whatever the label, it was undeniably an anomaly.
In its original state, it had been a microscopic entity—void of thought, let alone will. But then, a colossal power had unexpectedly surged into the corner of the void where it drifted.
A mysterious, unfathomable force, akin to that of a god, had carved a world with a shifted phase—a sort of parallel reality—into a space where there had once been nothing.
Fortunately for the entity, this power was so immense, so overwhelmingly vast, that its application was imprecise. Even after a whole world had been forged, the excess power remained saturated within the space. By absorbing these leftovers, the entity rapidly evolved into a sentient being possessed of formidable strength.
(Yes... I see now. I have been chosen. Chosen to erase those foolish humans with my own hands... I have ascended. I have become the Cyber God!)
What began as a mere scrap of malicious data had been transformed by that absolute power into a wicked monstrosity dwelling within the digital realm.
Within the cyber world, its power was likely absolute. In the modern era, to seize control of the network was essentially synonymous with ruling the world itself.
It realized that its current location was a kind of parallel world, but that was a trivial concern. If this was the world it inhabited, it would simply follow its inner malice and drown the world in chaos.
The Electronic Monster was about to begin its campaign of destruction when it felt a strange access within the digital void. It was a connection from somewhere that belonged to no part of this world, yet it was undeniably linked. Tracing the signal, it saw the figures of a man and a woman.
(What is this? An access to my domain from another world? How foolish to reach out toward the Cyber God... Very well. As the first step toward the world’s end, I shall dispose of you. Since you have accessed this space, I can interfere from this side as well... Heh, heh... come, let me invite you to hell—!?)
Just as it moved to strike at the otherworlders, guided by its malice, the Electronic Monster froze. It felt as though a single drop of water had fallen into a space of absolute, soundless stillness.
Driven by instinct, it turned around. Standing there was an incomprehensible something.
The newcomer had long hair that shimmered through a shifting spectrum of colors and wore futuristic clothing adorned with various electronic decorations. Her red eyes resembled camera lenses. Though her form appeared human, her aura was utterly alien. She felt like a machine meticulously designed to mimic a human woman.
"Warning. The one you have foolishly attempted to interfere with is the Noble One. Extending your hand with malice is an unpardonable act of barbarism."
The mysterious entity spoke, but the Electronic Monster could not understand the words. It heard the sounds, but it was unable to process them as language.
(What... is this thing? No... she is too different... The power she wields... Her very existence...)
Even without understanding her speech, the monster immediately grasped that the being before it possessed power on an impossible scale. Though it was meant to be a manifestation of pure malice, it trembled and fell to its knees, experiencing a sensation it did not yet know was called "terror."
"...Correcting language level for the comprehension of an inferior existence. <<There isn't a chance in the void that you could actually affect him, but that's beside the point. Don't you dare try to interfere with Kaito Miyama-sama, you pathetic scrap of electronic trash. Die.>> ...Conclusion: erasure."
Following that intelligible declaration, the entity lightly pointed a hand. With that simple gesture, the Electronic Monster—a being with enough power to bring a world to its knees—vanished without leaving so much as a single bit of data behind.
Once the monster was gone, the entity shifted her gaze toward Kaito and Aoi as they continued their game.
"...Outputting emotions. <<My turn doesn't come until after the Dual God, so I cannot meet him yet. I'm so jealous of Canaris.>> ...Outputting impressions. <<But thanks to him accessing cyberspace, I got to see Kaito Miyama-sama’s face! I'm so happy!>> ...Confirming psychological state regarding future schedule. <<This isn't Shallow Vernal’s world, so I've judged that it's safe to watch Kaito Miyama-sama and indulge in some fan activities for a while. Hehe, what a wonderful perk.>> ...Future schedule confirmed. Continuing observation of Kaito Miyama-sama."
Speaking in a unique, rhythmic cadence that blurred the line between mechanical and emotional, the being known as the Cyber God began swaying her body happily from side to side, continuing her watch over Kaito.
