Beyond a door tucked away in the backyard of Kaito’s home in the Kingdom of Sinfonia lay a highly specialized space. Within this realm, created by the Almighty God Canalis, three figures—Nebula, Canalis, and Illness—stood gazing at the item before them.
“...It is finished,” Nebula murmured.
“Even so,” Illness added, her tone carrying a hint of hesitation, “it feels as though we may have overdone it just a bit.”
“I didn’t use any materials that don’t technically exist in this world, but it’s still impossible to produce this through conventional means,” Canalis said. Her voice remained as expressionless as ever, yet it carried the distinct weight of someone realizing they had made a mistake. “The only ones in this world who could replicate this would be Shallow Vernal or a Machine God like Machina. I suppose my god-tier power bled through a little too much...”
Illness showed a flicker of rare agitation at Nebula’s words. It wasn’t often she looked so unsettled.
“Then again,” Nebula continued, “we could never have cut corners on a product bearing our Master’s name. I suspect we would have arrived at this result regardless of the path we took.”
“True. For now, I’ll run another scan to ensure there aren't any actual addictive properties,” Canalis noted.
“Though, if the problem is simply that it’s too delicious,” Illness sighed, “the only solution would be to make it taste worse... and that hardly seems like an option.”
The subject of their discussion was MK Royal, a special brand of black tea named after Kaito. They had collaborated on its development for some time, and their obsession with quality had led to a perfect result—perhaps too perfect. Even these three, beings of immense power, were left wondering if its sheer deliciousness had become a liability. It was a divine treasure that no one below the Almighty Class could ever hope to replicate.
But as Nebula had pointed out, compromising on the quality of tea that carried Kaito’s name was simply not in their nature.
“For the time being, let’s imbue it with a mental stabilizing effect to prevent any withdrawal symptoms from the sheer bliss of drinking it,” Canalis suggested. “The question is... how do we even sell something like this?”
“We always intended for it to be a pinnacle luxury item,” Nebula said. “Let’s set the price high and keep the quantity extremely limited. Perhaps... enough for ten cups of tea, awarded to only one person per month?”
“Regarding this particular tea,” Illness agreed, “it should be lottery only. Even Kaito-sama’s friends should have to enter the draw just like everyone else.”
To preserve its aura as a supreme luxury, they decided that MK Royal would only be available through an exclusive monthly lottery. They also planned to house the leaves in a vessel of unparalleled quality, bundled with a specially designed cup and teaspoon.
“Well, for now, shall we let our Master taste it?” Nebula proposed.
With the general plan in place, Canalis went to fetch Kaito. A few moments later, the two returned.
Kaito listened to their explanation before taking a single sip of the brewed tea. His eyes went wide, and he froze. After a silence that stretched for over ten seconds, he finally managed to find his voice.
“...No, wait. Isn't this too good? I think my consciousness actually left my body for a second there.”
“Yes,” Nebula admitted. “To be honest, we think we may have overdone it. But unless we chose to intentionally ruin the flavor, this was the inevitable result.”
“We intend to offer it as Nifty’s most exclusive limited-edition product,” Canalis explained. “Our rough plan is to hold a lottery once a month for a single set. The pool would consist of anyone who purchased at least one item from Nifty that month. I can track every purchase, so we could either issue physical lottery tickets or simply run an automatic entry system where the winner is notified directly. If they don't buy it, we just draw again.”
“I see... Having a 'phantom product' like that definitely adds to the brand's prestige. It’s a good idea,” Kaito remarked.
After further discussion, they decided to adopt the automatic entry system. The highlight of the process would be the drawing itself; once a month, Kaito would personally pull the winning entry.
As the meeting drew to a close, Canalis pulled out a lottery box and set it on the table.
“Shall we have Kaito-sama draw the first winner as a trial run? It won't take long to prepare the actual product. There will be a bit of a wait before we officially announce the sale, though.”
“Understood. Just a trial run then... Wow, that’s a lot of names.”
“Business has been booming,” Canalis replied. “And since cafe meals and orders from the Tablet for Friends are included, the pool is quite large.”
“Right... Well, here goes. This person!”
Following Canalis’s lead, Kaito reached into the box and pulled a name. At that moment, the first winner of Nifty’s special MK Royal was decided.
