With dinner concluded, the day’s itinerary was essentially complete. All that remained was the journey home, which Olivia-san facilitated instantly with her teleportation magic.
Regarding our destination within the Friendly City, Olivia-san initially suggested dropping Kaori-san off at her shop before teleporting back to the Great Cathedral herself. However, Kaori-san expressed a desire for a leisurely stroll from the cathedral to her shop, so she told us that parting ways in front of the Great Cathedral would be fine. In the end, we decided to teleport to the plaza in front of the cathedral and disperse from there.
"Well then, Olivia-san. Thank you very much for everything today."
"No, it is I who should be thanking you. It was the greatest of honors to spend one of Miyama Kaito-sama's precious days by your side. If Miyama Kaito-sama would permit it, I would be overjoyed if we could have another such opportunity someday."
"Of course. Let’s definitely go out together again if the chance arises."
"Yes!"
The teleportation was over in the blink of an eye. Standing before the Great Cathedral, I exchanged brief parting words with Olivia-san. She nodded with a serene, genuinely happy expression, then briefly clasped her hands to offer a few seconds of prayer.
Then, she turned toward Kaori-san.
"Mizuhara Kaori, thank you for your company today as well. I realize you won't be able to rest quite yet with such a Major Act still ahead of you, but please carry it out while remaining deeply grateful for Miyama Kaito-sama's Mercy."
"The pleasure was mine, thank you. I had a wonderful time... wait, what? A Major Act?"
"Yes. You are returning to your shop now, are you not?"
"Well, yeah. My shop is my home, after all."
"As you declared earlier, I believe you will be receiving a hug from Miyama Kaito-sama there. When that moment arrives, please do not forget your sense of deep gratitude toward him. However, a word of advice based on my own experience: the euphoria may be so overwhelming that you face the Danger of losing consciousness. Please face this moment with the necessary resolve and a steadfast will."
"............Hwah?"
Kaori-san stood there, stunned by Olivia-san’s solemn delivery. It was clear that when Kaori-san had mentioned getting a hug at her shop—likely intending it for some vague, future occasion—Olivia-san had interpreted it as a firm appointment to take place the moment we parted ways tonight.
"Well then, Miyama Kaito-sama, I leave Mizuhara Kaori in your hands."
"Eh? Oh, right."
"With that, I bid you farewell. Once again, you have my heartfelt thanks for today's company..."
"Wait, hold on, Olivia-sama..."
With a graceful bow and a smile, Olivia-san vanished into the Great Cathedral, leaving Kaori-san and me standing there in an incredibly awkward silence.
Serious-senpai: "...Wait, hold on a second. A hug between just the two of them at night in her home-cum-shop? That’s the kind of thing lovers do... and usually lovers who have been together for quite a while. Seriously, what is even happening...?"
