Afterword
I wanted to offer my sincerest thanks to everyone who picked up the second volume of Reincarnated as the Mastermind of the Story.
Last summer, the first volume received an immediate reprint thanks to the overwhelming support I was given, and I wanted to take this moment to express my gratitude.
This installment featured even more revisions and additions than the first, resulting in the notably thicker volume you held now. Beyond the physical size, I truly hoped the story itself proved enjoyable for you.
Moving forward, I had some exciting news regarding the upcoming third volume.
Thanks to your incredible encouragement, the release of the third volume was officially confirmed. I began working on the manuscript toward the end of last year, and the process moved along smoothly.
In that third volume, a new chapter of Ren’s journey unfolded.
Ren finally made his way to the city and encountered the Descendants of the Seven Heroes. Between his struggles to acquire new powers and the numerous events with the heroines, the plot thickened considerably. Furthermore, Ren crossed paths with a truly unexpected figure—
The narrative shifted significantly in volume three, and I hoped you would continue to accompany me as the story progressed. I looked forward to showing everyone how Ren’s tale and the Legend of the Seven Heroes further intertwined.
Additionally, the first volume of the manga adaptation was recently released, and I was deeply moved by the positive reception it received. I found myself mesmerized by the sheer intensity of the combat scenes illustrated by Segawa-sensei; even as the original author, I stood speechless and admired the work. I encouraged everyone to check the official Shonen Ace website and hoped for your continued support of both the manga and the original novels.
Finally, I wished to offer a few words of appreciation.
I extended my heartfelt thanks to Nakamura-sensei for providing another round of beautiful illustrations. The new depictions of Fiona and the others were stunning, while Ren and Lithia remained as charming as ever, truly warming my heart.
My former editor, K-sama, who recently received a promotion, taught me many invaluable lessons regarding my work. I also felt deep gratitude toward my two current editors for their kind and thorough guidance throughout this process.
Despite the difference in labels, I was humbled that KADOKAWA BOOKS—the publisher of my work Magic Stone Gourmet—included advertisements for this series in their publications. I also wanted to thank the designers, the sales and distribution teams, and everyone else who played a role in bringing this book to life.
And once more, I offered my heartfelt thanks to every reader who chose to pick up this book.
I looked forward to the chance to greet everyone again in the third volume. Until then, I hoped you would continue to support Reincarnated as the Mastermind of the Story.
