Ch. 21

Section 21

Afterword

It was a pleasure to meet you. I was the author, Ryo Yuuki. To those I had greeted in my previous works, it had been a long time.

Thank you very much for reading Reincarnated as the Mastermind of the Story.

This work was made possible by the many revisions and additions I made to the manuscript originally serialized on the web. If you enjoyed it, nothing could have brought me greater joy.

Volume 1 began with a series of unexpected developments for Ren. He was reincarnated as a character he never expected, met Saintess Licia—whom he never wanted to encounter—and then risked his life to protect the girl who had grown attached to him. All of it served as the prologue to his singular fate.

Of course, many new stories still awaited Ren. There was the mystery of the Magic Sword of Light related to Licia's Magic Stone. Marquis Ignat, who was destined to rebel against the Empire, now had a connection to Ren because the boy saved his daughter. The Imperial Military Academy, the setting for the original game, and Selakia’s Azure Orb, where a legendary monster was said to sleep, also remained.

When it was decided that I could write Volume 2, I hoped to share those stories with everyone as well.

Furthermore, Ren’s story was set to expand beyond the novel. A manga adaptation for Reincarnated as the Mastermind of the Story was scheduled for Monthly Shonen Ace. The artist in charge was Hajime Segawa-sensei. Segawa-sensei was a popular and talented creator who had serialized works that were adapted into anime, such as Ga-Rei and Tokyo ESP. Ever since I heard Segawa-sensei would be in charge, I spent every day in a state of excitement.

I hoped everyone would check the Shonen Ace website and Twitter for further details.

Finally, I wished to offer my gratitude to everyone involved in the production of this book.

Nakamura-sensei, thank you for gracing Volume 1 with such wonderful illustrations. Every time I looked at the art you provided, I was struck by its beauty. This first volume would not have been completed without your assistance. Thank you so very much for giving Ren and Licia such wonderful designs.

I was also deeply indebted to my editor. I could not thank you enough for the technical guidance and wisdom you shared during the revision process. I also wished to thank the sales staff, everyone involved in the bookbinding process, and the booksellers who delivered this book to the readers.

To the readers, I offered my thanks once again. Thank you so very much for picking up this book. I was truly grateful that you read Ren’s story.

I hoped that I might meet you all again soon. I looked forward to your continued support for Reincarnated as the Mastermind of the Story!
