When I consulted Anima and Caraway about Canaris, there were no objections. In fact, they had both been scouring their connections for suitable candidates without success, so her arrival was more than welcome.
"Given the nature of a simultaneous rollout across three nations, we need someone capable of teleportation," Caraway noted. "For instance, someone like Akane-dono would be perfect, but we can hardly ask the chairwoman of a major trading company."
Anima nodded in agreement. "Putting someone affiliated with any of the three nations in charge could invite political friction. Having someone who belongs to none of them is a huge relief."
Just as I’d suspected, teleportation was a prerequisite. At worst, I could have bought and lent out a teleportation magic tool, but those were prohibitively expensive and hard to come by.
Considering that, and as Caraway pointed out, Canaris—a visitor from another world with no ties to any of the three nations—was the ideal candidate.
"My, my, I appreciate the vote of confidence," Canaris said with her usual flat expression. "Taha~ I'm just glad to be of use. I'll do my best to live up to your expectations."
"It involves a lot of travel between the three nations, so you might find yourself quite busy," I cautioned.
"Eh? Oh, no, it's really just a matter of existing in three stores at once, so it's no trouble at all," she replied. "As an Almighty-class being, manifesting in multiple locations simultaneously is fairly simple. Taha~ if my facial muscles weren't so unresponsive, I’d handle the customer service myself and pocket the entire salary, but things rarely go so perfectly. Oh, I could even create some friendly clerks using my creation powers. I’d need to clear it with Shallow Vernal first, but... taha~ basically, you can assume I can do just about anything."
Because she was so down-to-earth, I tended to forget that Canaris was an Almighty God. She truly could make almost anything we imagined a reality.
Being in three places at once, creating staff... she was at a level where she could practically run the entire operation by herself.
"...Canaris-dono, just as an example... would it be possible to build the shops in all three nations at the same time? In other words, could we open them simultaneously without any delay between them?"
"No problem at all," she assured me. "While I'd need to consult the God of this world, Shallow Vernal, before creating living beings out of courtesy, I’ve already established a contract regarding structures. I can manifest those freely. Well, there are some limitations on materials, but if you give me your design requirements, I can set up a subspace and do a temporary assembly there."
"...Anima, doesn't this mean we can open these stores at virtually zero cost?"
"Yes, Caraway, I was thinking the same thing," Anima replied. "As expected of an Almighty-class God... and as expected of the person Master brought home."
In any case, Canaris was undeniably competent. The launch of the tea brand's physical stores looked to be in good hands. Since she could fulfill specific requests like where to build, I figured I should send letters to Ryze-san and the others to finalize the locations.
Serious-senpai: "Store Manager (Almighty)... The sheer weight of that title is staggering."
