Canaris (Part 7)

Following Nebula's suggestion, I explained the situation to Canaris. I told her I would need to discuss the matter with Anima and Caraway first, so I couldn't make anything official right then, but I asked her what she thought about the job.

"I see, I understand the situation," Canaris replied. "If you're okay with it, Master Kaito, please leave it to me. To be honest, I'm completely unsuited for customer service given my lack of facial expressions, but I can make up for that in any number of ways. Haha! I apologize for this unmoving poker face!"

"That would be a huge help," I said. "I was actually quite worried about who to put in charge of the shop."

"No, no," she waved it off. "I am grateful just to have found work in this world. And if the job involves selling things Nebula-san made, my motivation will be on a whole different level!"

"I trust her abilities as well," Nebula added. "I think she's the perfect fit."

"Oh, Nebula-san...!" Canaris gushed.

Naturally, I still had to talk to Anima and Caraway. However, since the producer herself recommended her, and her abilities were at an unparalleled Almighty Class level—not to mention she had far more common sense than your average creator god—I doubted I could find anyone better.

"Alright. We'll go over the details later with Anima—she's my Attendant Captain. As for your room, Canaris-san..."

"Oh, any room is fine," she said. "If you give me permission, I can just use space expansion or create a small pocket dimension to make it as big as I want."

"I'll leave that to you, then. I should check with my maid, Illness-san, first... but let me show you the floor plan. I was thinking you could use this room on the first floor."

My house was nearly identical to Lilia-san’s mansion, meaning it was absolutely massive. But while Lilia-san employed a small army of servants, my household was much smaller. There was me, Illness-san, Eta, Theta, Anima, and Caraway. My parents were here too, along with Aoi and Hina, who had moved in because they felt bad about occupying guest rooms at Lilia-san's place when I had so much extra space. That made ten people in total.

Since we were only using ten rooms, the place was practically empty. I had chosen this specific room for Canaris because she was close with Nebula, so I figured a room near the garden would be best.

"The World Tree is right about here in the garden," I explained, pointing to the map. "From this room, you’ll be able to see it, which should make it easier to talk to Nebula. How does that sound?"

"To show such consideration for someone who just barged in... as expected of Master Kaito! Haha! Popular men really are on another level, aren't they? Hey, is it alright if I start feeling a premonition of love?"

And so, it was decided that an Almighty-class Goddess would be moving in. But I still had a massive hurdle to clear. How on earth was I going to explain to Lilia-san that yet another Almighty God from a different world was moving into my house?

Serious-senpai: "Lilia, whose stomach is being punched out of the blue as usual..."
