After a brief chat with Life-san and Erne, I headed toward Fate-san's Temple as originally planned. I had no other obligations for the rest of the day, so I looked forward to a relaxing afternoon. I hadn't actually checked Fate-san's schedule to see if she was busy, but... well, knowing her, she probably wasn't.
"Oh? Kai-chan, what's up? Did you come to see me?"
As I reached the entrance of the temple, Fate-san came out to meet me, seemingly sensing my arrival. As usual, she was floating atop her cushion with a relaxed smile, but there was a certain buoyancy in her step—or rather, her drift—that suggested she was genuinely excited by my visit.
"Yeah, I had some business in the God Realm, so I thought I'd stop by and say hello to Chronoa-san, Life-san, and you. I've already finished my visits with the others, and since I'm free for the rest of the day, I thought we could relax together if it's a good time for you."
"O-Oh... wow! That’s great! You’re more than welcome! Come on, come inside!"
Fate-san’s face lit up with a radiant smile as she happily ushered me into the temple. However, as I followed her through the halls, she came to an abrupt halt.
"Fate-san?"
"Ah, sorry, Kai-chan. Give me just a minute or two."
"Eh? Oh, sure."
After that brief apology, she hopped off her Floating Cushion and stepped into a nearby room. She left the door ajar, allowing me to hear the conversation inside.
"Lord God of Fate?"
"Give me every bit of work you have on hand right now... Yeah... Okay, done. Here, take this and deliver it to the God of Space-Time and the others. I’ve finished my quota for the day. I’m spending the rest of my time with Kai-chan, so I am absolutely not taking on any more work. Honestly, if anyone disturbs us, I’m going to be seriously angry."
"U-Understood. Please, enjoy your time."
"Right, thanks!"
Having finished her business, Fate-san emerged from the room and closed the door. The serious expression she’d worn moments ago vanished, replaced by a grin as she lunged at me.
"Kai-chaaan!"
"Whoa, easy there!"
I hurried to catch her, but she felt practically weightless. It seemed she was using her levitation to make herself easier to catch. She clung to me tightly, nuzzling her cheek against my chest while speaking in a doting, needy voice.
"I did all my work, every bit of it! Praise me, praise me!"
"Ahaha... that’s incredible. You really finished it in the blink of an eye. You're amazing, Fate-san. You did a great job getting your work done."
"Ehehe~"
As I gave her the praise she wanted and patted her head, she leaned into my touch with a lazy, content smile. She had the aura of a pet cat acting spoiled, which was undeniably cute. I stayed there for a while, lightly hugging her and stroking her hair until she had her fill.
Serious-senpai: "...I see, so she finished her work because she didn't want the time for just the two of them with Kaito to be disturbed... Sh- She's going full throttle right from the start..."
