Chapter 58: A Sudden Rom-Com Incident

I spent the afternoon letting the boring lectures drift through one ear and out the other, my focus entirely on the script in front of me.

I hadn't performed in a play since a nursery school recital, and since I’d ended up playing the heroine of all things, I had to work twice as hard as everyone else.

Since I was the lead, it was a given, but there were a lot of lines. I needed to study them until they were ingrained in my mind; the last thing I wanted was for my brain to go blank from stage fright during the actual performance.

I became so engrossed in the script that the afternoon classes were over before I knew it.

Since Hino, the executive committee member, couldn’t make it today, the after-school festival preparations were essentially optional. I’d been dragged into the prep work for several days straight, so I decided I would head home and focus on memorizing my lines.

As I was packing my things to leave, Miyama, who sat directly in front of me, grabbed Yuria and headed over to Kuroki’s desk.

"Hey, hey, you two! Preparation isn't mandatory today, so let's all read the script together! Rui-chan, you don’t have Track and Field Club today, right?"

"No, I’m free."

"Yay! In that case—can we go to Rui-chan's house?"

"My house, huh..."

Kuroki hesitated, her eyes drifting toward me sitting to her left for some reason.

What was that about?

Feeling her gaze, I pretended to continue packing while straining my ears to eavesdrop.

"Hmm... my house might be a bit difficult today. My father mentioned he was using the living room for guests, and besides, my room is... well, it’s a bit of a mess."

Despite her words, Kuroki kept glancing at me out of the corner of her eye.

Hey, seriously, why are you looking at me?!

"I see. My place is way too small and messy, so that’s a no-go. What about you, Yuria?"

"M-my room is... out of the question."

Yuria replied with a strained, awkward smile.

I knew exactly why. Her room was undoubtedly plastered with Breast-Kyun merchandise. If they ever found Milk-tan’s baby bottles, she’d lose her title as the school’s number one gyaru and become the "Breast Milk Sucking Gyaru" instead.

Then again, I was in no position to judge. My own room was filled with things that would result in my social execution if they were ever discovered.

"Should we just go to a family restaurant then?"

"Ehh? Last time we went to the one nearby, those Nishi Junior High delinquents were being so loud and annoying. Though Rui did manage to make them all shut up."

"Rui-chan was so cool then! She silenced those punks in an instant."

"Hehe. It was nothing special. Anyone would have done the same."

Wait, what exactly did Kuroki do to those delinquents? I was genuinely curious now.

"If the family restaurant is out, how about Snoto?"

"Snoto will probably be packed with students from our school, so we might not get a seat. Besides, if we go there, Airi will try to drink three Frappuccinos."

"I-I would not! I’d get a stomachache if I drank that many!"

Miyama turned beet red as she denied it. Knowing her, though, that sounded like a perfectly normal amount.

"So, what’s the plan? Since Rui is free today, I'm fine with whatever she decides," Yuria said.

"Yeah. I’m fine with whatever Rui-chan wants too. We could go to that new karaoke place by the station, or the usual bowling alley. Anywhere is okay with me!"

"Honestly, Airi. We're supposed to be reading the new script today, remember? I’m telling you now, we aren't going there to play."

"Boo, Yuria the serious girl. Although, for a serious girl, your panties were looking pretty flashy today."

"Wait—!"

Wh-What?!

Yuria’s panties... are flashy?!

Miyama! Keep going! Give me more details!

"D-don't say such stupid things, Airi! You idiot!"

"Gugyuhhh! O-okay, okay! I give! I'm sorry, Yuria!"

Yuria, her face crimson, locked Airi in a side headlock. As Airi struggled, I saw her massive breasts pressing right against Yuria’s thick thighs.

Whoa! It’s a miraculous fusion of Miyama’s bust and Yuria’s legs!

Truly, what a moving moment...!

"...Wait, huh?"

While I was staring intently at the two of them, I realized Kuroki was suddenly standing right in front of my desk.

"Hehe..."

She wore an eerily ominous smile as she turned toward the scuffling pair.

"You two, stop fighting. I’ve decided where I want to go."

Yuria promptly released Airi.

"So, where do you want to go, Rui? Karaoke?"

"No. Actually, since we have the opportunity... I’d really like to go to Ryouta-kun’s house."

"Wait... WHAT?!"

The three of us shouted in unison.

Was that smile from before... because she had already thought of this?!

This girl is always ten steps ahead!

"That’s okay, isn't it? Ryouta-kun?"
