Even though the bed was a double, the enclosed space of the tent made it feel strangely smaller than usual as I lay down. It was a high-end model, soft and comfortable enough to live up to its expensive price tag.
"...I'll join you then," she said softly.
"Sure, come on in."
I felt a brief chill as the outside air rushed in, followed by the weight of Isis-san sliding under the covers. When I turned toward her, I was startled by just how close she was. She looked at me, a radiant, happy smile blooming on her lips.
"Umm... Well then, I'll dim the lights."
"...Yeah."
I reached out to the lighting magic tool at the head of the bed. With a touch, the brightness faded into a soft glow, and when I turned it off completely, the world plunged into darkness.
"It’s darker than I expected," I remarked. "The thick fabric makes it great for sleeping, but I can't see a thing."
"Kaito... can you not see in the dark?"
"Can you?"
"I can... wait just a moment."
I felt her hands gently cover my eyes. A moment later, she pulled them away. Suddenly, her face came into focus. The tent hadn't gotten any brighter, but it was as if my eyes had instantly adjusted to the night.
"Whoa, amazing. I can see everything."
"I used Vision Enhancement magic... so you could see in the dark too. Is it okay?"
"Yes, I can see your face very clearly, Isis-san."
"Fufu... I can see Kaito clearly too."
Seeing her adorable smile and realizing she was staring directly at me felt both embarrassing and exhilarating. It was strange; even without direct contact, the bed felt far warmer than when I was alone. Her presence felt incredibly vivid.
"Kaito... may I... come closer?"
"Huh? Oh, of course."
When I nodded, Isis-san slid toward me until our bodies were pressed together. Since we were both in thin nightwear, the sensation of her heat was overwhelming. I knew we both had clothes on, but her softness against me made it feel as though our bare skin were touching.
Isis-san reached around my back and pulled me into a tight embrace. This was even more intimate than before—a full-body hug that left no gap between us. I felt the blood rush to my face. She was so soft, so warm, and she smelled wonderful. I could feel her breath against my skin.
"Isis-san!?"
"Kaito... you’re warm... holding you like this... makes me so... happy."
Her happiness was so endearing that I instinctively wrapped my arms around her back, pulling her close. She was so delicate that she seemed to vanish into my chest. The comfort was beyond words.
"I'm the same way," I whispered. "Being with you like this... just like you, Isis-san, I’m filled with happiness."
"We’re the same... I'm happy."
"That’s right. We’re sharing the same happiness."
"Yeah... Kaito... can I kiss you?"
"Yes."
My heart hammered against my ribs as I leaned in to meet her lips. I found myself squeezing her tighter. As we pressed against each other, every remaining gap seemed to vanish, and a wave of warmth turned my thoughts to mush. It was pure bliss.
Just as Isis-san had said, the sensation of the two of us sharing the same happiness was simply irresistible. As we kissed, however, something unexpected happened. I felt her tongue lightly tap against my teeth.
I knew exactly what she wanted. As I opened my mouth, her tongue slid inside, caressing mine. A deep kiss. I hadn't expected her to take the lead, but the sensation made my brain melt. I lost myself in the moment, our tongues dancing together as the wet sounds echoed through the silent tent.
I lost track of time, but eventually, she pulled back. She looked at me with a soft smile while I was still dazed.
"Kaito... I... asked Shaltier and Kuromueina... many things... about human romance... and how lovers love each other... But... I’ve only listened... or studied from books. So... Kaito, teach me actually what to do."
"Isis-san... that means..."
"Kaito... I love you."
With a smile as radiant as a goddess, Isis-san embraced me even tighter and pressed her lips to mine once more.
