One afternoon, I paid a visit to the Sanctuary within the God Realm. The domain where Shiro-san lived was blanketed in teleportation interference so intense that the already powerful restrictions in the rest of the God Realm didn't even compare. Aside from a few Quasi-Almighty Class individuals like Kuro or Eden-san, teleporting there was impossible even for the Six Kings.
In fact, the teleportation magic tools I carried were useless against the Sanctuary’s barriers. Until recently, I’d had to travel to the Upper Level first before making my way into her personal domain.
Under normal circumstances, even the Upper Level was protected by interference, though it wasn't nearly as formidable as the Sanctuary's. The restrictions in the God Realm were somewhat unique: as long as you possessed a Main Blessing, the interference wouldn't affect you. A Low-ranking God’s blessing covered the Lower Level, a High-ranking God’s covered the Middle Level, and the Main Blessing of a Supreme God allowed travel to the Upper Level.
Since I held Shiro-san’s Main Blessing, I could teleport to the Upper Level with ease, yet even that didn't grant me direct access to the Sanctuary. I’d had to rely on a special teleportation magic circle located in the Upper Level, which was reserved for those who had Shiro-san’s explicit permission.
Now, however, a special gate in my room allowed me to bypass those steps and travel directly to the Sanctuary. It made visiting her much more convenient. That said, it seemed the gate only functioned for someone holding Shiro-san’s Main Blessing, so no one else could use it.
Regardless of the logistics, my reason for visiting today was simple: I wanted to share some black tea and chocolate that Nebula had made and enjoy a quiet tea break with her.
"Hello, Shiro-san. I’ve come to visit."
"Hello, Kaito-san. Your timing is excellent. I have just this moment finished it."
"Finished...?"
I had spotted Shiro-san almost as soon as I arrived. As I approached and greeted her, she offered a rather mysterious reply.
"Finished what? Were you making something?"
"Yes. Lately, I have been studying the behavior of lovers across various worlds, and I decided to recreate one of the things I learned about. I was hoping to get lovey-dovey with you using this, Kaito-san, so your arrival was perfectly timed."
It was a bit of a side note, but hearing her say the words "lovey-dovey" with her usual expressionless face and monotone voice was incredibly surreal.
Setting that aside... what exactly had she made? Something for couples to use?
"It is this."
"And... what exactly is this?"
"This is called a 'Couples-only Seat.' Apparently, lovers are meant to sit upon this and get lovey-dovey."
"I... see..."
What was I supposed to say to that? To my eyes, it looked like nothing more than a two-seater sofa sitting in the middle of nowhere. I understood the concept she was going for, though. She was likely thinking of the couple booths at internet cafes or the dedicated couple seats you sometimes find in movie theaters.
"Um, Shiro-san? There’s only the sofa—I mean, the Couples-only Seat. What exactly do you intend for us to do with it?"
"Shall we not sit?"
"Well, I can’t imagine we’d do anything else with a sofa. But after we sit down, then what?"
"Who knows? For now, we shall simply be lovey-dovey."
"That is a complete lack of a plan..."
Even if it wasn't for a movie, shouldn't there be some beautiful scenery to look at or some kind of activity to focus on? At this rate, we were literally just going to sit side by side.
"For now, let us try sitting."
"All right, if you say so."
Since Shiro-san didn't see any issue with it, I sat on the sofa as she prompted. The cushions were exceptionally comfortable.
Then, Shiro-san sat down right next to me. She was much closer than I had expected.
"This feels quite fresh, in its own way. It's a different atmosphere compared to sitting across from each other at a table."
"Yes. Now, if we are lovey-dovey, it will be perfect."
"Right... So, specifically, what is it you want me to do?"
Since the concept of being "lovey-dovey" was a bit too abstract, I decided to ask for her specific preferences. Shiro-san placed a finger against her chin and thought for a moment before speaking.
"I am quite conflicted. While stating my requests would be simple, I find myself desiring a sense of surprise as well."
"Surprise?"
"Therefore, please do something in a 'way you think a lover would.'"
That was a massive tall order. In other words, I was expected to come up with a way for us to act like a couple in this situation and then execute it myself?
Man, what should I do? For starters, since we were sitting right next to each other... maybe I should put my arm around her?
"I see. I have no objections. Come, please proceed."
"You're actually enjoying this, aren't you, Shiro-san?"
"Because I am with you, Kaito-san, I am enjoying myself very much."
"That’s an unfair thing to say..."
I felt a wave of embarrassment at Shiro-san’s words. Despite her airheaded nature, she always conveyed her affection with blunt honesty. I reached out, placed my arm around her shoulder, and pulled her close.
She was incredibly soft. Once I touched her, she felt so wonderful that I didn't want to let go. Even though I was feeling her through her clothes, the sensation was remarkably pleasant. In every possible sense, this woman was a literal walking cheat code.
As that thought crossed my mind, I looked at Shiro-san while holding her close. She was looking up at me with expectant eyes. I wasn't so dense that I couldn't figure out what she wanted in a moment like this. Leaning in, I pressed my lips against hers.
Serious-senpai: "'Sugar Overload'... those are words I truly despise. Wait, hold on, hey! Part... 1?!"
???: "Trying to jump on a trend while being slightly past its peak is very like you, Serious-senpai. And yes, that’s right... it’s Part 1."
Serious-senpai: "Hey, wait, you’ve got to be kidding me! Sudden moments with a lover were supposed to be one-episode conclusions! That was the prooooomise!"
???: "Actually, I don’t believe such a promise ever existed..."
