Harmonic Symphony Middle Part II 3

The performance of the Fairy Orchestra, led by Til-san, was truly magnificent. The music was filled with crystal-clear tones and cheerful melodies, making for a very pleasant experience.

There were moments here and there where I found it difficult to focus due to our... particular situation, but I still managed to enjoy the show overall.

It seemed Kuro and her group were heading to Erial-san's venue next. Meanwhile, we were set to visit the attractions hosted by Camellia-san and Rosmiel-san. However, Rosmiel-san's performance only ran once every two hours; the timing wasn't quite right for it yet, so we decided to head over to Camellia-san's place first.

"According to Eingana-san, Camellia-san’s exhibit changes every time, so she didn't have any details on what to expect this year," I remarked.

"When we first met her, she mentioned that she was letting her subordinates take the lead," Sieg-san replied, recalling the moment we were first given our invitations. "Perhaps the experience varies depending on which subordinate is at the center of the planning."

Camellia-san basically worked behind the scenes and had mentioned that she left the Harmonic Symphony attractions to her subordinates. From what I had heard, the goal was for her subordinates to gain experience, so as Sieg-san suggested, she might be rotating the person in charge each time.

In a sense, it was the most unpredictable attraction on our list, which made me quite eager to see it.

When we teleported to the venue for Camellia-san’s attraction, we found ourselves standing in... a meadow.

"...A meadow," I noted.

"Wait, aren't we still inside the city?" Hina-chan muttered, while Aoi-chan tilted her head in confusion. "How is there a meadow this vast here?"

I could certainly understand their bewilderment. Even though we were supposed to be in the heart of a metropolis, a great grassland stretched out as far as the eye could see. No matter how large this city might be for the Demon Realm, it was strange to find a landscape like this inside its borders.

"This is... a large-scale spatial barrier," Lilia-san deduced immediately.

"Yes," Luna-san added, looking impressed. "To maintain something of this magnitude, the caster would need to be at least Count-class. It reminds me of the Space Isolation Barrier Zex-sama used during that incident with Big Sis Fia."

They seemed to have identified the cause right away, and they exchanged words with expressions of admiration for the skill involved. Just as Luna-san said, a similar barrier had been used during the battle with Fie. It seemed this was magic that created an entirely separate space.

While I was processing that, a guide appeared to lead the way. As we followed them, a massive, boat-like structure appeared amidst the grass—a gondola. It was enormous, easily large enough to hold a hundred people or more.

Near the boarding platform, I spotted Camellia-san.

"Camellia-san, good to see you again."

"Kaito-san, and everyone else as well. Thank you for coming."

"By the way... what exactly is the plan here? A meadow and a gondola?"

The atmosphere was lovely. A wooden gondola sitting in the middle of a sea of grass—it looked like a scene from a painting. However, since I had no idea what we were actually supposed to do, I decided to ask her directly.

"This gondola uses magic to glide across the meadow. Guests can enjoy the moving scenery while listening to a performance by the orchestra on board."

"Heh, that sounds like fun. But Camellia-san... what's with the outfit?"

A peaceful cruise through the grass while listening to music... it felt like a very relaxing attraction, one that suited Camellia-san perfectly.

The idea had supposedly come from her subordinates, but I noticed Camellia-san’s attire was different than usual. Her clothing used subdued colors, but the style was that of a sailor—not a schoolgirl's uniform, but a professional mariner's outfit, complete with a matching hat.

"Actually... I’ve ended up serving as the captain of this gondola. I'm acting as the guide."

"Wait, really? Didn't you say you were just staying behind the scenes?"

"Ahahaha... that was the intention. But it seems my subordinates were secretly planning for me to be the main focus. They only explained it to me after I finished handing out the invitations and returned to the venue. I’d thought it was a bit strange that they chose a meadow and put grass patterns on the gondola, but..."

Camellia-san gave a wry smile. I see. She had intended to leave everything to her subordinates and stay in the background, but they clearly wanted to put her in the spotlight for a change. They had carried out this surprise plan, and Camellia-san had been talked into serving as the guide.

"Well, now that it's come to this, it can't be helped. I'll do my best to make sure you all enjoy yourselves."

Watching her smile with such a gentle expression, I could tell, even if only vaguely, just how much she was adored by her subordinates.
