Harmonic Symphony 4

After receiving our guide for the Harmonic Symphony and thanking Camellia-san, we prepared to move out. Camellia-san was a wonderful person—she’d even kindly agreed to give Sieg-san an autograph, which had left Sieg-san in an exceptionally good mood.

"So, where should we head first?" I asked. "If we want to see the attractions hosted by the Seven Princesses, their venues are scattered all over the city. We’ll need a plan if we want to hit them all."

"That's true," Lilia-san replied. "The one closest to here would be the show managed by the Great Tree Princess Jutia-sama."

Since the festival took over the entire city and each of the Seven Princesses was hosting her own major event, trying to see everything was quite the undertaking. The areas they managed were clustered relatively close to the central World Tree, making them easier to reach than the outskirts, but the distances were still daunting. Honestly, I doubted we could actually finish the circuit.

"Hmm, do you think we can really make it to all of them?" Hina-chan asked.

"It'll be tough," Aoi-chan answered. "This map makes it look like they’re close because it’s a condensed guide, but the actual distance between points is significant. We’d be lucky to hit half of them."

Aoi-chan was right. The map was deceptive; the venue was the single largest city in the Demon Realm. Visiting all the Seven Princesses’ attractions on foot was simply impossible. Even with a carriage, we’d be pushing it.

"It would be great if we could use teleportation," Luna-san noted. "Milady, are you able to use it?"

"I can, but I’m not exactly a specialist. If I’m using world coordinates, I can manage to move myself, but I certainly can't teleport a group this size."

"I see. Well, teleportation really is one of those magics where you either have a knack for it or you don't. I hear there are plenty of Peerage-class demons who struggle with it," Luna-san added.

Teleportation was a highly advanced art. Specifying world coordinates required immense technical skill. Moving six of us—Aoi-chan, Hina-chan, Lilia-san, Luna-san, Sieg-san, and myself—simultaneously would be a challenge for anyone who wasn't a master of the craft.

As Luna-san mentioned, aptitude was everything. Among the Six Kings, for example, Megiddo-san wasn't very good at it and could only move a few people at a time. On the other hand, Isis-san was a master; if she felt like it, she could apparently teleport thousands or even tens of thousands of people at once.

Actually, couldn't I just ask Alice? She was an expert at teleportation, too.

Just as that thought crossed my mind, a familiar voice drifted over.

"...I didn't mean to eavesdrop, but I happened to overhear your conversation. Miyama Kaito-sama, if you're in a bind, perhaps I could be of assistance?"

"Eh? Wait... Gluttony-san?"

I turned around to see a black-haired girl in a Gothic Lolita-style dress clutching a rabbit plushie. It was Gluttony-san and Natasha-san. I remembered being told to treat Natasha-san as "Gluttony-san" in public, since the actual executive usually maintained the persona of the plushie.

"Kaito-san, what did you just say?" Lilia-san asked, her voice trembling. "This person is..."

"Oh, right. This is one of the Ten Demons, an executive under the Phantasm King... Gluttony-san."

"A pleasure to meet you..."

When I introduced her, Gluttony-san gave a small bow. Lilia-san’s face went pale, and she clutched her stomach with a grimace.

"N-now a member of the Ten Demons... Ugh, my stomach. Is the deep bass from the music vibrating in my gut...?"

"I’m afraid that pain has nothing to do with the music, Milady," Luna-san said.

"Just how often does this man run into Six King executives?" Lilia-san lamented. "I can't take it... it’s genuinely terrifying."

"It really is a spectacle," Luna-san agreed. "It hasn't even been an hour and we've already hit our third executive. I’m starting to share Milady’s anxiety—I wonder just how many more we’ll have met by the time we leave."

I could sympathize with Lilia-san. We had been running into high-ranking officials since the moment we arrived. Even I was a little stunned. But it was purely a coincidence, so I really hoped she didn't blame me.

"Anyway, are you here for the Harmonic Symphony as well, Gluttony-san?"

"Yes. An acquaintance invited me. But back to the matter at hand—if you're looking for a way to get around, I can transport you."

"That would be a huge help, but are you sure? I don't want to mess up your schedule."

"It's no trouble. I’ll be here with my friend for a while. If you need a teleport, just call my name toward the empty air and I’ll come for you. In a venue this size, I’ll notice you wherever you are, as long as you say my name."

"I see. Thank you so much. That really solves our problem."

"Think nothing of it. If I can be of help to Miyama Kaito-sama, there is no greater joy."

It looked like we’d be able to get around via teleportation without getting in her way. That was a massive relief.

Still, I couldn't help but wonder who invited her. I had a feeling, based on pure intuition, that I probably knew her friend as well.
