Despite the minor hiccup early on, the rest of my date with Sieg-san went smoothly. After we enjoyed our time together and I returned home, Alice informed me that Cento-san and Cien-san were looking to meet with me.
As it turned out, Tre-san, Cento-san, and Cien-san were members of Kuro's Family. They wanted to apologize for the earlier commotion and offer a proper self-introduction, as things had been far too chaotic for formalities the day before.
Now that I thought about it, I hadn't actually given them my name either. I didn't feel like they had caused me any real trouble, but since I had ended up helping them find Tre-san, they likely felt they owed me an explanation.
I had no reason to say no, so I sent word back through Alice. Things moved quickly after that, and we arranged for the three of them to visit my home the following morning.
I stepped out to wait for them at the scheduled time. Right on cue, the trio teleported in front of the gate and began walking toward me. Tre-san led the way, with Cento-san and Cien-san trailing behind. As soon as she spotted me, Tre-san beamed and waved enthusiastically.
"Yoo-hoo, Kaito! I've come to hang out!"
"...Eh? Ah, um... It's been a while—well, since yesterday, Tre-san."
"Thanks for yesterday! Oh, here’s a souvenir. It’s a snack with a really unusual texture; quite interesting. Oops, of course, the taste is great, too—whoa!?"
She was incredibly forward right from the start, acting as though she were a regular who dropped by every other day. I froze for a second, taken aback by her familiarity. Before I could respond, Cento-san and Cien-san grabbed Tre-san by the shoulders with looks of pure panic and hauled her backward.
"What do you think you’re doing, Tre-neesama?! Do you have any idea who you’re talking to?!"
"...Even after Cento and I explained it so much yesterday..."
"Hmm?"
Tre-san just tilted her head, looking utterly perplexed by their urgency. Cento-san clutched her head as if fighting a migraine.
"This is Miyama Kaito-sama... You understand he’s Chrome-sama’s lover, don't you?"
"Of course I do! Which means he’s exactly what I thought."
"Exactly what?"
Tre-san flashed a bright smile and gave a firm thumbs-up.
"It means he isn't just Chrome-sama’s person of destiny—he’s mine, too! I can feel the momentum... So, anyway, Kaito, how about it? Want to go on a date right now?"
"I’ll pass."
"...That’s four rejections so far. But I have a friend who’s been repeating the cycle of proposing and getting dumped once a day for tens of thousands of years, so I’m sure it’ll work out eventually!"
Positive... she was staggeringly positive. I also had a feeling that the "friend" proposing an absurd number of times was Agni-san. I remembered her declaring she’d confess again the next day during the Six Kings Festival. Ozma-san really did have a hard life.
More importantly, I was worried about Cento-san and Cien-san, whose faces had turned pale at Tre-san’s words.
"Tre-neesama, you are being incredibly disrespectful to Miyama Kaito-sama!!"
"It’s fine, he won't mind."
"Even if Tre-neesama doesn't mind—"
"No, I mean Kaito won't mind, so it’s okay!"
Tre-san replied with that same carefree smile to Cien-san, who was hurriedly trying to scold her.
Those words, filled with conviction, settled right into my heart; they were strangely convincing. I felt like I finally understood a little about what kind of person Tre-san was. She certainly had an easygoing personality, just as Cento-san and Cien-san said, but she wasn't insensitive.
In fact, even yesterday, although we hadn't talked long, her pushiness didn't feel grating. It had actually been quite pleasant. She was the type of person who seemed thoughtless but actually possessed a keen instinct for a person's nature. She was naturally likable. If I were actually the type of person who hated being approached casually, Tre-san likely would have sensed it and kept her distance.
She reminded me of Raz-san—a social genius who operated on intuition rather than calculation. She had that aura of someone who could become friends with anyone in an instant.
"It’s as Tre-san says. You don't need to be so formal. Please, feel free to relax."
"I—Is that so?"
"If you say so..."
"See? Being yourself is always best! We’ve got a rare chance here, so let’s just have fun and not sweat the small stuff!"
""Tre-neesama, please start sweating the small stuff!!""
"Ehh... Why am I getting scolded so much? Why?"
Watching Tre-san’s expression change so visibly after being told off by the twins, a smile unintentionally escaped me. Their personalities differed, but she really was the same type as Raz-san. When speaking with her, the tension naturally dissipated; she was simply fun to talk to.
Extra: Top 3 people Kaito recognizes as eccentrics
1st Place: Eden She was so far ahead of the rest that she deserved to be in the Hall of Fame. If I carelessly used Sympathy Magic on her, the sheer volume of her affection would overwrite all other information, making me lose consciousness. In terms of ability, personality, and madness, she was the undisputed leader of the "dangerous people" list.
2nd Place: Pandora Though I’ve recently reconsidered her professional mode, there’s no doubt she’s still a massive pervert. She was the only one I felt could somewhat rival Eden. I felt a constant threat to my chastity whenever she looked at me with those lustful eyes.
3rd Place: Phoenix A dangerous supernova who appeared recently. Her sexual preferences were bad enough, but after our first meeting, she started adoring me like crazy and calling me "My God," which made her even more troublesome. She was a promising pervert with much of her potential still unknown.
Serious-senpai: "...Well, putting the top one aside since she's an outlier whose madness oozes from her very being... Two out of the three are Phantasm King's Subordinates, aren't they...?"
???: "By the way, for this Top 3 alone, the standard is 'a level where even Kaito-san would be turned off' by a massive margin. Fourth place would be Tiamat, with a bit of a gap after them."
Serious-senpai: "...Isn't she also a Phantasm King's Subordinate!?"
