Once the payment of the Platinum Coin was settled, Alice snapped her fingers. Instantly, the four of us, Hapty-san included, were enveloped in translucent spheres. We drifted into the air, floating high above the treetops to get a better vantage point.
I assumed this was for observation purposes—a front-row seat to the show. Sure enough, I could already see the Wyvern soaring toward us from the distance.
But where was this supposed Alice-chan Robot? I scanned the horizon, and then I saw them. Shadows were racing across the landscape toward our position. At first, I thought they were just those familiar cat kigurumis, but as they got closer, I realized I was wrong. They were massive, standing at least five meters tall.
I barely had time to process the sight of a giant cat kigurumi charging toward us before a bird-type version of the same size plummeted from the clouds, cutting through the air.
While the cat ran on two legs, a cow kigurumi galloped on all fours. A mole-like one tunneled through the earth, and somehow, a shark kigurumi seemed to swim through the air itself.
It made sense once I looked at them as a team. The cat was clearly the balanced leader unit, the cow was the power-type ground unit, and the bird, mole, and shark were specialized for the air, the underground, and the sea. It was a remarkably well-rounded configuration.
As these thoughts crossed my mind, the five giant suits lined up behind the cat and leaped into the air.
They began to disassemble into their primary components. The cat transformed into the torso, the bird and shark became the arms, and the cow and mole shifted into the legs. It was a transformation sequence that wouldn't have looked out of place in a high-budget mecha anime.
The wings of the bird attached to the back, and the cat face on the chest rotated three hundred and sixty degrees, revealing a sharp, aggressive saber-toothed tiger visage. It was so sleek and well-designed that it bore almost no resemblance to its original form.
Finally, as the robot's head emerged, intricate mechanical adjustments clicked into place across its frame.
"Five-Unit Fusion... Great Alice-chan Robot!"
The machine that stood before us was easily twenty times cooler than I had dared to imagine. It looked exactly like a heroic robot from a classic children's show. It was legitimately impressive, though the original kigurumi aesthetic had been completely erased.
The poor Wyvern looked utterly bewildered. It hovered in the air, flapping its wings and glancing around as if asking, "What am I even looking at?" It clearly had no idea how to handle the situation.
"Great Alice-chan Sword!"
Alice didn't give the monster any time to recover. The Great Alice-chan Robot reached toward its back and drew a physical blade that matched its own height. It was another classic trope—the kind where you wondered where such a massive weapon had been stored.
The robot dropped into a low, striking stance that looked incredibly heroic from our angle. A moment later, a roar of flames erupted along the length of the blade.
So, it was a fire-elemental sword. That was a staple for special moves, right up there with lightning. It looked flashy and powerful, just as it should.
Suddenly, a heroic theme song began to play out of nowhere. I had no idea where the sound was coming from, but the timing was perfect. In these kinds of stories, the theme song playing during a special move was the ultimate victory flag. If a hero tried to use their finisher without the music, there was a good chance it would be blocked or countered.
As I sat there reminiscing about the mecha anime I had loved as a kid, the Great Alice-chan Robot prepared to end the fight.
The thrusters on its back ignited, and the machine accelerated in a sudden, sliding dash. It became a red blur, slicing through the Wyvern as it streaked past.
The Wyvern was cut clean in half. It remained suspended in the air for a heartbeat, sparks erupting from the glowing wound, until the Great Alice-chan Robot struck a dramatic finishing pose.
Then, the Wyvern disappeared in a massive, spectacular explosion.
I had to be honest: the quality was magnificent. It far exceeded my expectations. When the kigurumis first showed up, I wasn't sure what to think, but the combined robot was legitimately cool. Our floating vantage point allowed us to see every detail of the choreography.
The special move had been impactful, and the sheer production value made me feel like I had been pulled into the world of a television show.
A single Platinum Coin... I had worried it would be the most ridiculous waste of money in my life, but watching that performance changed my mind. For this level of entertainment, a Platinum Coin actually felt like a bargain.
I used to be obsessed with mecha shows, and I could still talk about them for hours. But as I watched the smoke clear, I felt the need to voice one small concern.
"What on earth did that Wyvern ever do to deserve that?!"
"Hey, Aoi, Hina... tell me the truth. Am I the weird one for not being able to keep up with this? Or is the world just broken?"
"...I'm pretty sure it's just you, Kaito-san," Aoi replied flatly.
"Kaito-senpai is definitely the weird one. There's no doubt about it," Hina added.
I couldn't help but notice that even the person who had orchestrated the whole thing looked a bit disturbed.
Serious-senpai: "Wyveeeeeern?!"

Character Introductions:
Kaito A third-year university student who helped Alice-chan. Since his parents had passed away and left him a large house, Alice-chan moved in with him. He was a kind-hearted soul who couldn't ignore anyone in trouble, which often led him into chaotic situations. Unlike his counterpart in other worlds, he had come to terms with his parents' death and was a well-adjusted individual. In the movie, he was shown to have graduated and started a career.
Alice-chan An elite officer of the Space Police who piloted a self-evolving robot. She was sent to Earth to investigate a mysterious energy source. While she was a genius in combat and strategy, her personal life was a mess, and Kaito often had to scold her for being lazy. Over time, she learned the importance of relying on her friends. Even after a promotion, she chose to stay in the field and frequently spent her vacations at Kaito's house.
Housekeeper Ill-chan A woman who insisted on working as Kaito's live-in housekeeper. While she was originally suspected of being an alien associated with the mysterious epidemic, it turned out she was just a wandering alien who fell in love with Kaito at first sight. Her creepy laugh was just a personality quirk. She was a devoted caretaker, and many fans considered her the "true" heroine of the story. By the time of the movie, she was essentially the lady of the house.
Pheton A kaiju who survived her defeat and moved into Kaito's house after losing most of her power. She spent most of her time lazing on the sofa, though she occasionally helped with errands. Despite her claims of being weakened, she was still remarkably durable and strong, leading many to believe she was just too lazy to return to her home planet.
Baby Castella Demon Kuro An antagonist who tried to make baby castella the world's staple food. She was moved by Kaito's words that sweets should bring happiness, not suffering. She eventually became a recurring friend who visited Kaito with snacks. Though her episode was comedic, she was rumored to be the strongest character in the series due to how easily she handled the robot.
White End Shiro The final boss of the series and the source of the unidentified energy. Her power was absolute, representing the laws of the universe. After her defeat, she disappeared into a dark vortex while making cryptic comments. She reappeared in the movie in a more peaceful role, though her true motives remained a mystery.
Alice-chan (Parallel World) The Alice from the movie version. Unlike the main Alice, she was a cool, lone-wolf mercenary. Though her personality was different, she shared the same core kindness and sought help to save her dearest friend.
