A heavy silence descended after I finished explaining the situation with Eden-san to Lilia-san and Fia-sensei.
After a long pause, Lilia-san spoke, her voice thick with solemnity.
"So... in other words... this person called Eden-sama is the god of your world, the one you mentioned before... and this god took a liking to you... and lent you her strength this time?"
"Y-yeah, something like that."
I didn't think "taking a liking" quite captured the terrifying intensity of Eden-san's affection, but I kept my explanation vague. I could hardly tell them that the god of my home world was a total yandere.
"I thought I was finally through it all after getting to know almost every major figure in this world," Lilia-san muttered, her voice sounding utterly defeated. "And now he’s receiving assistance from the god of another world... I can't take this anymore. This man has absolutely no sense of self-restraint."
"I am truly sorry." I bowed my head deeply once again.
Fia-sensei, who had been listening in silence until now, spoke up with an expression that suggested she had finally made sense of everything.
"Miyama-kun, so basically, she’s the equivalent of the Creator God-sama in this world?"
"Yes, most likely."
"I see... No wonder I couldn't lay a finger on her. I thought I was fairly strong myself, but the peak of an entire world really is in a class of its own." Fia-sensei nodded to herself, seemingly satisfied with the explanation for her own overwhelming defeat.
"Fia-sensei..." Lilia-san croaked.
"Yes?"
"Do you have... any good stomach medicine?"
"Now, now. Let's start by trying to stop relying on pills. It’s likely psychological, so a change of pace is vital. Why not try taking even a short walk outside every day?"
"What am I supposed to do?"
"Hmm. You’re so serious, Lilia-chan, you probably bottle everything up. I’m partly to blame for what happened this time, so I won't be too hard on you, but the best thing is to just not worry about it too much."
Was this a counseling session? I felt a fresh wave of guilt. I’m really, truly sorry, Lilia-san...
"Just venting your grievances can help. Why not try talking to Ru-chan or someone like that?"
Fia-sensei's advice was perfectly logical, but I had a feeling her choice of confidante was a total mistake. Still, I couldn't exactly offer to listen to her complaints myself. After all, I was the one causing all the stress.
"Oh, I know! Why don't you go on a date with Miyama-kun to clear your head?"
"What?! A... a-a-a-a d-date?"
"Sure. You two are lovers, aren't you?"
"W-well, yes, but..."
Lilia-san's previous depression vanished instantly, replaced by a deep flush as her eyes darted frantically around the room.
"H-however, a date is... a date, and... considering Kaito-san’s schedule... and since it’s a date... if a date becomes a date... assuming it’s a date... w-wouldn’t that be difficult?"
"I have no idea what you're saying. Please, just calm down."
"R-right."
"Lilia-chan, do you hate the idea of going on a date with Miyama-kun?"
"N-no! Not at all! In fact, I've been wanting to for a wh—it's nothing!"
The conversation was drifting in a strange direction, but for my part, I welcomed the idea. We hadn't been out just the two of us since our trip together, so wandering through town sounded nice.
"If it’s alright with you, Lilia-san, would you like to go shopping together tomorrow?"
"K-Kaito-san?! Is that... a d-date?"
"Yes. The Six Kings Festival is coming up soon, so maybe we could look for some new clothes."
"Ah... hau..."
"Lilia-san? If tomorrow is bad, we can pick another day."
"N-no! It's f-fine-sh!"
She bit her tongue. She bit it hard. Her reactions were just too adorable.
As I watched Lilia-san, who had accepted the date with a scarlet face, Fia-sensei clapped her hands.
"Oh, right! I have just the thing."
"Something good?"
"Yeah. It was a gift, but it’s a theater ticket. Let's see, it should be right... Here! Take it."
"Eh? Are you sure?"
"Of course. I was happy to receive it, but I just haven't been able to find the time. It’s still good for another ten days, so the two of you should go see it together."
"Thank you very much."
"You're welcome. There’s only one, so you'll have to buy the second one yourself, but I hear it’s a very popular play."
The theater, huh? I knew such things existed, but I’d never been to one, neither in my original world nor this one. I gratefully accepted Fia-sensei's kindness and checked with Lilia-san, who was still blushing furiously but nodding along.
After that, Fia-sensei announced she was returning to the clinic and left, offering one last round of thanks and apologies.
I spent a little more time discussing the plans for tomorrow's date with Lilia-san before leaving her office.
I finished my dinner, took a bath, and returned to my room. I was just starting to write in my diary and reflect on the day’s events when Kuro appeared, just like she always did.
"Kaito-kun! I'm here~"
"Welcome back."
"Hey, Kaito-kun. This is a bit sudden, but... want to go on a date with me right now?"
"What? A date? Now?"
Kuro stood there with her usual bright smile, making a totally outrageous suggestion. It was 9:00 PM—a bit late to head out, but too early for bed.
"Yeah... there’s somewhere I really want to take you. Is that okay?"
"No, it's fine. Just let me grab my coat."
"Great!"
When I accepted, Kuro beamed with a look of pure joy.
Dear Mother, Father—
I only just made a promise to go on a date with Lilia-san tomorrow, but now I’ve been invited out by Kuro. I was going to finish writing about today's events in my diary, but it looks like there’s more to come.
