Gwen spoke up energetically and struck a bizarre stance.
She seemed to be trying to look cool, in her own peculiar way.
The executives’ response to her performance was practically nonexistent. A strained atmosphere began to fill the room.
Gwen, the source of the awkwardness, broke her pose with a bewildered expression. She placed her hands on her hips and let out a dry, strained laugh.
"Oh my, the air in here is getting a bit chilly. Did I... just bomb?"
"Hey, Demon King-sama. This troublesome woman has escaped. Shouldn't we just kill her?" Luciana asked.
"I concur," Grom added. "My eyes feel as though they are rotting simply by having her in my sight."
The two of them voiced their opinions in unison. In moments like this, they displayed a surprising level of coordination.
"Wait a second! Isn't that a bit too violent to say to a harmless beauty?" Gwen offered her defense without losing her nonchalant attitude. "Besides, I didn't escape. Harvelt-san summoned me."
Meanwhile, Logan frowned and addressed me directly. "This woman is dangerous. She should not have been brought out from the dungeon."
"Oh, you're overestimating me! Harvelt-san has confiscated most of my power, so I'm truly helpless right now," Gwen said. "Besides, we’re on the Savior and Hero part of the discussion now, so I have no intention of overstepping. I can read the room, you know!"
"I have placed multiple spells on Gwen," I interjected. "If she shows even the slightest suspicious behavior, she will die instantly."
I had embedded various Beast’s Abnormalities and Forbidden Magic within her. With the majority of her power confiscated by me, it was utterly impossible for her to withstand them.
"Exactly! He set them so meticulously that it shows just how much he’s on guard! I tried to tinker with them a little, but I’d definitely die. Honestly, in a different world, I'd sue for this kind of treatment!"
Gwen put her hands on her hips in a theatrical show of anger. That, too, was likely just a joke or an act.
I pointed out coldly, "We are getting off track. Begin the explanation."
"Sir, yes sir!"
Gwen saluted playfully. She bypassed the Round Table and walked over to my side. Clapping her hands to command the room's attention, she began to speak with glee.
"We were talking about the Complete Annihilation of the Imaginary Savior, weren't we? Yes, I have a proper plan for that."
"Don’t keep us in suspense. Let’s hear it," Henry urged, leaning back with his hands behind his head. He seemed eager to get to the heart of the matter.
At his request, Gwen looked around at everyone in the room.
"We simply prepare a hero capable of shouldering all of humanity’s desires. The Imaginary Savior only manifested because the weight of expectations grew too great for anyone to bear. In that case, we just need to provide a suitable actor."
"So, once the destination for that power is fixed, its substitute—the Imaginary Savior—will vanish. Is that it?" Logan asked.
"Ding-ding-ding! Exactly! You're quite sharp. I'll be generous and give you fifty points!"
Gwen pointed at Logan as he spoke. She seemed to be in high spirits, hopping around by herself. As I expected, the executives’ reactions remained lukewarm.
I’d thought she was the right person for this, but perhaps I was mistaken...
Tired of interjecting, I pushed the regret to the back of my mind. Showing my irritation would likely only please her. It was best to stop overthinking and just let her run with it.
