Memoir: Does the Nectar-Addicted Boy Dream of an Alraune? Part One

This story is told from the boy's perspective.

My name was Armin.

I was a ten-year-old apprentice mage, the grandson of the Great Sage himself. Traveling with my grandfather was a grueling ordeal of endless training. It was probably inevitable that his instruction would be severe—he was, after all, a man of world-renowned reputation—but I always thought he could have been a little softer on me.

My parents were killed by the Demon King’s Army, leaving me as the only living memory of them my grandfather had left. That alone should have been enough for him to take it easy on me, but he was a demon. I hated the suffering.

That demon geezer eventually accepted a request from a village we stopped at during our journey. Apparently, a group of monkey-like monsters called Barb-Affe had been running wild in the area. Barb-Affe were famous for their high intelligence; they were clever enough to loot swords and spears from adventurers and wield the weapons themselves.

But precisely because they were so smart, they usually stayed far away from human settlements. Unlike most monsters, the Barb-Affe were known to be family-oriented and hated seeing their kin killed. They knew that while they could best other forest monsters with a blade, they were no match for the skill of human soldiers. Because of that, they almost never ventured outside their own territory.

The fact that they had left the safety of the woods was a major incident. According to the village chief, the forest's ecosystem was changing. A monster of overwhelming power had likely appeared and begun driving the others out. To protect their families from being slaughtered, the Barb-Affe fled—and in their desperation, they killed a human family instead.

The parents were dead, survived only by their ten-year-old daughter. I caught a glimpse of her at the village chief’s house—a quiet, white-haired girl. She was the only one left. I felt sorry for her.

The monster that had appeared in the woods was something the Barb-Affe feared even more than humans. The village was terrified of such a creature living so close by. My grandfather decided he had to deal with the immediate threat of the monkeys before worrying about whatever was lurking in the deeper forest, so he headed out alone for the hunt.

He strictly ordered me to stay in the village and continue my training, but I had no intention of listening. I was finally free. I didn't care what that hellishly strict old man said anymore.

I was confident in my own strength. I had a natural talent for magic, and there was no way I would lose to some monster living in a backwater forest like this. With my mind made up, I slipped out of the village. My destination was the other side of the woods. I was going to defect from the Kingdom and make my way to the Empire.

But I was naive.

I had barely stepped into the forest when I ran into a Zornbiene. The bee-type monster hit me with its Poison Needle, and I was instantly paralyzed. Even though sweat poured off me as if I were in a sauna, I felt freezing cold deep inside my bones. It was like being buried in snow. I couldn't even open my eyes.

Certain that I was about to die from the poison or be eaten by the bee, I gave up and lost consciousness.

When I finally woke up, I was being held by a beautiful woman. I had expected to be dead, yet here was this girl. She was stunning—a beauty who looked like she had stepped right out of a portrait of a Saint hanging in a royal palace. She looked to be maybe four or five years older than me.

"Big sister... who are you?" I managed to croak.

She didn't answer. She simply stroked my head with a gentle touch.

"Where... where am I?"

I looked around, and there was no doubt we were still in the forest. Then I saw it.

Uweh?!

Wait a minute... this "big sister" had the lower body of a flower!

Then it clicked. This girl was a monster. An Alraune, if I remembered correctly—a dangerous creature that lured humans in and made them her captives.

"Uwaaaaaah!"

I tried to scramble away, but I was naive once again. Her vines lashed out and caught me instantly.

"Are you... are you going to eat me, you monster?"

The Alraune looked genuinely shocked. I stared at her, stunned. Did this thing actually understand what I was saying? Since her upper half was human, I figured she must have high intelligence, but what happened next caught me completely off guard.

"Won't... eat... you..."

She spoke!

No way. I couldn't believe it. My grandfather, the Great Sage, had told me that even though Alraunes looked half-human, they were just plants. He said they couldn't speak to people. And yet, here she was, mimicking human language. It was impossible.

"I... won't eat... you."

She had to be a new species. There was no other explanation. As if to prove it, she even ordered me to call her "Big Sister."

What kind of weird punishment game was this? Why did I have to call a monster "Big Sister"? Was she trying to seduce me? I recalled reading in a book that Alraunes lured men to their dooms.

Well, no matter how big her chest was, I wasn't going to be won over that easily. And for the record, I wasn't looking away because I was embarrassed to see her like that. My face was only hot because of the poison! Seriously, why was she wrapping vines around her chest anyway? She was a plant! What was the point of a flower wearing a bra?!

But there was something even more confusing. This Alraune smelled incredible. It was a mysterious, intoxicating fragrance unlike anything I had ever encountered.

I soon discovered the source: her Nectar.

The Nectar dripping from her mouth looked like nothing more than drool, which should have been disgusting, yet my own mouth flooded with saliva just looking at it. My entire body craved it.

I decided to take just one taste.

Looking back, that was the moment my life changed forever. From the second I tasted that heaven, I was hers. I had become the Alraune's captive.

This ended up being quite long, so I’ve split it into two parts. As usual, I’ll be updating twice today. Next time: Does the Nectar-Addicted Boy Dream of an Alraune? Part Two.
