Section 5

Afterword

Nice to meet you. My name is Hiryu Satsuki. I usually post romantic comedies on Kakuyomu.

This work, I Saved the Ice Princess of Another School, and We Ended Up Starting Out as Friends—or Ice Princess for short—simultaneously won both the Special Award and the ComicWalker Award in the Romantic Comedy Category of the 8th Kakuyomu Web Novel Contest. It is truly an honor.

Now then, did you enjoy the book? The story up through Chapter 2 of the web novel version has been tightly packed into this single volume. Along with that, I revised the manuscript quite substantially. I believe it turned out to be an enjoyable read whether you have already read the web version or not.

I would be thrilled if even a single scene resonated with you, and if the charm of Souta, Nagi, Eiji, and the rest of the cast shone through.

Since Ice Princess could not have become a published book without the help of so many people, I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude.

To Misumi, who agreed to illustrate this work. Thank you so, so very much. Thanks to you, the charm of the "Ice Princess"—with her translucence, beauty, and delicate grace—as well as the warm humanity and cuteness overflowing from "Nagi Shinonome" were brought to life in such an incredible way. Souta, Eiji, Kirika, and Hikaru all became wonderfully charming characters as well. Every time I looked at your illustrations, my love for them welled up without end. I truly cannot thank you enough.

To my editor, who patiently and thoroughly guided me when I did not even know left from right. Thanks to your guidance, we were able to refine Ice Princess into an even more captivating and delightful book. Inexperienced, anxious, and green as I was, thank you so much for sticking with me and for all your thoughtful support. I offer you my heartfelt gratitude.

Next, to the readers who have cheered me on since the web novel serialization. Thanks to all of you, winning the contest became a reality, and I was able to see my work published in print. You helped me fulfill a dream I have held since middle school. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Lastly, to everyone who took part in the contest screening, everyone in the Dengeki Bunko Editorial Department, everyone involved in the production of this book, and everyone who picked up a copy. Thank you all so very much.

Until we meet again.
