After that, I arrived at the Adventurer's Guild and headed over to Reina-san's reception desk.
"Good morning, Reina-san!"
"Good morning, Erik-kun. Looks like you're completely back on your feet."
"Thanks to resting yesterday, I'm feeling great today!"
When I said that, a warm smile spread across her face.
After our greeting, I made my way to the training grounds behind the Adventurer's Guild as usual.
It was still too early for Olivia-san to arrive, so I started training on my own first.
"Good morning, Erik-kun. Looks like you've already gotten started today."
"Good morning, Olivia-san."
A short while later, Olivia-san arrived at the training grounds.
"How are you feeling? Did your body recover?"
"I've made a full recovery. It's all thanks to your medicine, Olivia-san."
"Fufu, don't mention it. I'm just glad I got to put that potion to good use. Even if I'd kept it, it probably would've ended up thrown away in the end anyway."
I then told Olivia-san that I had acquired Mana Control during my morning training, and that my Earth Magic skill level had gone up as well.
"Really? That's amazing. To acquire a new skill and even raise its skill level in such a short period of time... As expected, your Fixed EXP is truly an incredible ability, Erik-kun."
Olivia-san looked genuinely impressed and asked me to demonstrate my magic.
Stepping back a short distance from her, I activated a spell with Earth Magic.
"Spirits of earth. Create arrows to pierce the foe, and strike. Earth Arrow!"
It was a technique I hadn't been able to pull off before, no matter how hard I tried.
Shaping the earth, I formed several sharp projectiles and unleashed them all at once, sending them flying several meters ahead.
"Very nice. Both the range and the power are more than sufficient. You've worked really hard, Erik-kun."
"It's all thanks to your excellent instruction, Olivia-san. Thank you for overseeing my training."
I bowed my head in gratitude for her praise.
Afterward, we decided to spend the rest of the session training Parallel Thinking, Mana Control, and Earth Magic.
Having acquired Mana Control made it far easier to manipulate my mana.
On top of that, with my cognitive capacity expanded by Parallel Thinking, I was able to tackle even more demanding exercises than yesterday.
Under Olivia-san's watchful eye, I pressed on with my training.
◇
You have trained Parallel Thinking.
Gained 1 EXP.
Until next level: 81/100
◇
◇
You have trained Mana Control.
Gained 1 EXP.
Until next level: 47/100
◇
◇
You have trained Earth Magic.
Gained 1 EXP.
Until next level: 29/100
◇
Every time I took a break, I checked my status screen to watch my experience steadily accumulate.
By the time we wrapped up before lunch, I had racked up quite a lot of EXP.
"At this rate, it looks like both Parallel Thinking and Mana Control will level up tomorrow."
"Is that so? Once Parallel Thinking's skill level goes up, you'll be able to process even more thoughts at once, you know. When that happens, the speed at which you raise Mana Control and Earth Magic will probably accelerate even more."
"I think so, too. With your guidance, Olivia-san, my theoretical foundation is practically complete, so everything is progressing at an incredible pace."
I had only just acquired all three skills over the past few days.
Thanks to my master, Olivia-san, coaching me closely, they were growing at an astonishing rate.
"Oh, that reminds me. Erik-kun, starting tomorrow, I'm thinking of adding mana capacity training to your routine."
"Wait, really?!"
"I kept you waiting because there were materials I needed to prepare, but I've finally gotten everything together. We could have managed without them if we really had to, but having the right tools makes things so much easier. Sorry for making you wait."
"Not at all! It was only a couple of days!"
Knowing that I could finally start training my mana capacity wiped away all my fatigue, leaving me completely energized despite having just finished a hard workout.
I had mentioned to Olivia-san before that I wanted to train my mana pool.
At the time, she had asked me to hold off until she could acquire the necessary equipment. Hearing that, I had refrained from attempting any mana training on my own at the inn, patiently waiting for her signal.
"Well then, Olivia-san, I look forward to working with you again tomorrow!"
"Yes, see you tomorrow."
After saying goodbye to Olivia-san, I left the training grounds.
I stopped by the counter to let Reina-san know I had finished my session, then headed over to Sara-san's cafe to eat lunch. Afterward, I returned to the Adventurer's Guild to wait for Philia.
A little later than our usual meeting time, Philia finally came dashing through the guild doors straight toward me.
"Erik-kun, I'm so sorry! I'm late!"
"It's fine. I only got here a little while ago myself. Judging by all that energy, are you feeling all better?"
"Yup! I've made a full recovery!"
With Philia back in high spirits, the two of us headed over to Reina-san's reception desk together.
