However, the rollout would proceed in stages.
Establish a nominal front, such as the Jin Nidou / Elsa Nidou Medical Foundation, and operate under its umbrella.
Secure backing from the World Conference, earning public trust by having national governments issue official notices to their citizens.
Rather than expanding worldwide all at once, start locally in Loizart.
Once the organization gained recognition, branch out to surrounding cities, and eventually extend operations into neighboring countries.
That was the general framework.
Using this draft as a working baseline, they planned to refine it further over several rounds of discussion.
As for the clinic vehicles, Jin had originally envisioned something roughly the size of a small bus.
"If you make them that big, there'll be roads you can't pass when visiting rural villages," Beena pointed out.
Taking her advice, they decided on a convoy made up of several standard carriage-sized vehicles instead.
At that point, Jin remarked, "In that case, it might be handy to have something like a doctor helicopter."
Reinhard, Louis, and Beena all looked at him in unison, asking what on earth that was.
"Ah, back in the world I came from, it's a service where doctors fly through the air during emergencies to perform rescues."
"Ooh, that's incredible!"
"What an advanced concept."
Reinhard and Louis were thoroughly impressed.
"Then it might be wise to keep a small blow floater on hand," Beena suggested.
Considering local road conditions, that seemed far more practical than an ambulance.
"True, let's keep that in mind. A foldable design might work nicely."
The underlying assumption was that it wouldn't need to fly long distances. After all, emergency dispatches would almost certainly arrive by foot or horseback, making multi-hour flights at a hundred kilometers per hour highly improbable.
Emergencies on that scale fell under the jurisdiction of the World Security Guard anyway.
And so, the mobile medical vehicle project took its very first step forward.
"A medical foundation?"
Jin explained the finalized details to Elsa.
"Yeah. Rather than forcing our way in, we figured this would be the most natural way to integrate into the world."
"What's a foundation?"
In truth, the concept of a "foundation" didn't exist on Planet Ars.
Reinhard and Louis hadn't heard of it, and Beena certainly hadn't either.
Jin had simply blurted out the word on impulse; calling it a "medical corporation" would have served just as well.
"Honestly, I'm not entirely sure myself."
Jin was hardly an expert in economics, so he often threw around terms without fully grasping them.
Even so, it wouldn't cause any real issues.
"In short, it's supposed to be an organization funded and run through donations by wealthy individuals... or something along those lines."
Jin's mental picture was essentially that of a volunteer organization.
"In that case, how about 'medical welfare organization'?"
"Oh, that's great."
Since naming things was never Jin's strong suit, Elsa's suggestion was a welcome relief.
"It won't be entirely free, but it's not a for-profit venture either. That leaves us with some ambiguity."
After all, no such entity currently existed in the Known World.
"Fair point."
Thus, they settled on the name Nido Medical Welfare Organization.
The next day, the twenty-sixth.
"All right, let's start with just one unit."
They decided to deploy an Enju as their assistant automata.
Having already accumulated substantial clinical experience in Taji Village and Fan Village, her core design required no particular alterations.
With that settled, Jin completed Enju 4.
"Next, she'll need an assistant."
An assistant—or more precisely, a nurse.
"Shall we make a Nurse 2 for that?"
"Huh? Do you mean... a Nurse Version 2?"
"Yeah, exactly... Wait, hold on."
Jin's naming convention for golems and automata was almost always a base name followed by a serial number.
Since a nursing golem named Nurse already existed, calling a new model Nurse 2 would make it impossible to tell whether it was Unit 2 of the old Nurse line or the first unit of a brand-new Nurse 2 series.
Furthermore, since they would likely mass-produce them, Elsa worried they would end up saddled with confusing designations like Nurse 2-2.
"Then I guess 'Nurse Custom'... won't fly either."
"Nope."
Promptly shot down, Jin racked his brain once more.
"Then how about Assis?"
It was a simple shortening of "assistant."
"Mm, that sounds good."
With Elsa's stamp of approval, Jin immediately set to work crafting Assis.
"Elsa, give me a hand, will you?"
"Mm."
Since the assistant automata Enju was a female-type, Assis was designed as a male-type.
Rather than giving him a muscular frame, however, they built him with a slender, slightly small stature so as not to appear intimidating to patients.
Performance-wise, he was roughly on par with a Quinta—meaning he could easily overpower an ordinary combat golem.
"We need to prioritize dexterity."
"Mm."
They tuned his systems accordingly.
"A golem chassis should be fine, right?"
"Mm, no problem at all."
Elsa agreed that there was no need to hide the fact that he was a golem.
Working through the fine details took about an hour and a half, but Assis ultimately turned out exactly as they hoped.
"I plan to do this for future Enju units too, but I'd like them to be able to share knowledge and experience."
If multiple units practiced medicine across different regions, their collective pool of experience would grow rapidly.
"Let's retrofit the Enju units currently in active service as well."
"Please leave that to me."
Two Enju units were currently deployed in the field.
Unit 2 was undergoing operational trials in Taji Village, while Unit 3 was handling medical care in Fan Village.
Since neither performed medical duties at night, the upgrades could easily be carried out during their off-hours.
"Next up is the clinic vehicle... or rather, the medical vehicle."
"The essentials are sterilization, disinfection, and a bed."
"Sounds about right."
Since Enju could perform a Diagnose herself, there was no need for bulky equipment like X-rays or ultrasounds used in modern Japan.
"And a refrigerator. To store medicine."
"Right."
They would need to transport Persica juice and healing draughts.
"Plus a small Warp Gate."
"Mm. If anything goes wrong, we can handle it through the transporter?"
"Yeah. That way, even if we run low on medicine, we can restock instantly."
