Spheres of red light materialized above the red great dragon, swelling in size before raining down to pierce the vital points of the Evil Cavalry Division's soldiers and their evil dragons with pinpoint precision.
A few beats of the blue great dragon's wings instantly flash-froze the fleeing evil dragons and their riders. A violent tornado swept through right behind it, shattering the frozen figures into pulverized fragments.
When the green great dragon unleashed a roar, the evil dragons and cavalrymen were ripped to shreds, plummeting to the earth as a shower of blood and mangled flesh.
What unfolded before them was pure, unadulterated annihilation—an absolute slaughter of the enemy by overwhelmingly superior beings.
"How utterly dull..."
Just as the dragon-headed man spat those words, a voice chimed in.
"Boss Ladon, ain't goin' this far a bit childish of ya, yeah?"
A young man clad in a blue dragon-patterned robe appeared behind the dragon-headed man, Ladon, voicing his exasperation.
"What, Seiryu? Weren't you lot supposed to handle the evil soldiers?"
"Akujiki and the Bull Demon King did whatever they pleased and didn't leave a scrap for the rest of us, so I came lookin' to join the fray, see. But looks like you don't need any help here either, huh."
Hearing Seiryu's dejected grumble, Ladon replied, nodding with satisfaction as he watched his fellow dragon gods continue their one-sided massacre of the Evil Cavalry Division.
"It is fundamentally first come, first served, after all. I imagine every other battlefield is much the same."
"Suppose you're right, yeah. Guess I was too slow on the draw..."
Seeing Seiryu slump his shoulders in defeat, Ladon offered, "Well, though our factions may differ, you are still a dragon god in your own right. What say you? Care to join in with us?"
"Nah, if I go stealin' your credit now, the rest of 'em'll hold a grudge against me, yeah. I'll go hunt around somewhere else, see."
With that, Seiryu floated into the air, dissolved into a streak of blue light particles, and shot off toward another battlefield.
"Good grief. For things to be this devoid of challenge is a rather disappointing miscalculation, but no matter. In any case, this incident has made all-out war between our Great One and the Evil Army inevitable. That Commander-in-Chief of the Evil Army will surely—"
Before he could finish his thought, a voice interrupted him.
"Lord Ladon, it's almost over! What should we do next?"
A chibi dragon came fluttering down to perch on Ladon's shoulder and asked.
"If we hunt any more prey, it might ignite a feud between the factions. Once you finish off the remaining cavalry, stand by for further orders."
Ladon hoisted his Green Dragon Crescent Blade onto his shoulder and turned his back on the dragons.
"Where are you off to, Lord Ladon?"
"To report our victory to our Great One, of course."
The moment the words left his mouth, the ground gouged beneath him, and Ladon vanished without a trace.
Thus, the Evil Cavalry Division was wiped out as well.
