He must have cried himself to exhaustion and drifted off to sleep without realizing it. When he came to, a large moon was peeking through the iron-barred window of the cell. In the pale moonlight, accompanied by the groaning of metal, the iron gate slowly swung open.
"H-Huh?"
Gobuza let out a soft sound of confusion. Those bastards from the demon race who had shoved them in here were supposed to have locked this gate. No, even stranger, the lock that should have held the bars shut was completely gone without a trace.
(Wake up!)
He shook his companions—who, like him, had narrowly escaped death—rousing them from their slumber.
