Chapter 33: The Leveling Fanatic Becomes a Goblin Slayer

"—Hinata-san, today was just the first day, so let's call it here and head home."

"F-finally..."

『Whoa, this madman actually looped the Monster Room.』

『I never thought I'd see such a crazy endurance stream as a Monster Room loop on Hinata-chan's channel.』

『LMAO, halfway through the drone camera was only showing Leveling Junkie Bro.』

『Hinata-chan's channel has officially been hijacked by Leveling Junkie Bro.』

『But seriously, even with the frequent breaks to let Hinata-san recover MP, didn't they fight a ridiculous number of times?』

『Just how many goblins did he kill today...?』

When I told Hinata-san it was time to head back, she looked even more exhausted than I was for some reason. Well, even though I made sure her MP didn't run dry, she did use Heal a lot, so that might have been why.

The current time was just past 6:00 PM.

Since we arrived at the Monster Room around 2:30 PM, we had been looping it for about three and a half hours.

In the end, we finished with 21 loops.

Hinata-san's MP capacity still had plenty of room, but the reason we stopped at that number was a problem on my end.

As expected, while I was still getting used to it, the battles took more time, and I wasted slashes from my Sword Aura, leading to a noticeable excess in HP consumption. Because of that, Hinata-san had to cast Heal twice per round sometimes. On top of that, my own stamina—or rather, my concentration—didn't hold up, so I had to take frequent breaks with Hinata-san.

Each battle lasted less than two minutes, but since I had to fight at full power the entire time, looping with zero breaks was still impossible for me.

Still, my level went up, and by the end, I was able to win while keeping my HP consumption under 40 points. I'll be able to loop more efficiently next time. I was gradually getting the hang of it.

Now, as for the crucial experience efficiency...

The Experience Points obtained from one Monster Room loop was 4,410. However, that was for solo play. Since I was in a party with Hinata-san today, that amount was halved.

In other words, I earned 2,205 Experience Points per loop. Since we did 21 loops, the total Experience Points gained from the Monster Room grind was 46,305.

If I added the Experience Points from before our lunch break to this, it easily exceeded 56,000.

Needless to say, the Experience Points I earned today were the most I had ever gotten. Even with the experience being halved due to being in a party, the efficiency was incomparable to anything I had done before.

Without a doubt, I could be even more efficient next time. My stats had increased from leveling up, so reaching over 100,000 experience in a single day was a very realistic goal.

Below is my current status.

Did you notice?

Yes, as per usual, there was an unfamiliar skill and an unfamiliar title.

Below are the details for the title and skill.

————————————————

【Title】 《Goblin Slayer》 — Proof of one who slaughters the goblin race. You have been recognized as possessing master-class techniques in exterminating goblins. In battle against goblins, your body will gain even more sharpness.

【Skill】 《Goblin Slayer Lv.1》 — Damage dealt to goblins is multiplied by 2.4. Additionally, during combat with goblins, all stats except HP and MP are increased by 10%.

————————————————

This was what the Goblin Killer skill and title had evolved into.

Now, here was the important part—I had never heard of a skill or title called Goblin Slayer before. It wasn't even listed on the Modern Dungeon Strategy Wiki.

In other words, as long as the information wasn't being hidden, I was the only person who had obtained this skill and title.

I could probably guess why it suddenly changed. It was because the number of goblin monsters I had defeated exceeded 1,000. On top of that, having the Goblin Killer skill at maximum level was likely one of the conditions.

Setting aside the 1,000 goblin kills, there should be very few people—or perhaps just me—who satisfied the latter condition. If that was the case, it made sense that no one had manifested the Goblin Slayer skill until now.

As for the details of the skill... wasn't this way too strong?!

Following the known laws of skill growth, this would probably eventually result in an unconditional 4x damage multiplier against goblins, along with a 50% increase to all stats during combat with them.

To put it bluntly, it wouldn't be an exaggeration to call this an extraordinary skill...

"...No, but wait."

I thought that for a moment, but it was still useless against anything other than goblins. Spending precious Skill Points on something like that remained far too risky. Even for me, having already put 4 points into Goblin Killer, I felt a sense of hesitation at the thought of dumping another 4 points into this.

When I thought about it that way, it was certainly powerful, but it might not be that extraordinary after all...

That wasn't the only reason, but I had left my Skill Points unspent for now.

There was a skill I wanted to get immediately if I managed to find a Life Magic Skill Orb, and I expected my leveling pace to slow down for a while starting tomorrow.

To be honest, I was struggling with how to use my points, since there were skills like Blood Vengeance that I wanted to level up, and I wanted to pick up Seeker soon too...

I seriously didn't have enough Skill Points...!!

For now, I didn't feel like my current skills were lacking on Floor 4, so I planned to decide on my point allocation once I got a Life Magic Skill Orb or when I moved my hunting grounds to Floor 5.

Anyway, back to the matter at hand.

"Hinata-san, I've finished picking up all the Magic Stones, so let's head out."

"Yeah, let's."

As I shouldered my backpack, which had become significantly heavy just from goblin Magic Stones, I once again truly felt the greatness of healing magic.

While walking out of the room together, I expressed my admiration to Hinata-san.

"Man, healing magic really is amazing. The efficiency is totally different compared to when I'm solo. I can see why healers are so highly valued."

"Um, no, you're wrong? Healers aren't valued just so people can fight without resting, okay?"

『Now that I think about it, Leveling Junkie Bro fought all that time without getting hit once, right?』

『Eh? What? Does that mean Hinata-chan's Heal wasn't used to treat injuries, but purely to restore HP?!』

『It's not rare for Explorers who take proper safety margins to avoid getting injured, but it's insane that Leveling Junkie Bro was looping the Monster Room while fighting alone.』

『And zero injuries on top of that? Is he actually a god at combat?』

『By the way, won't today's earnings be an incredible amount?』

『Ah, true, the amount of Magic Stones is insane. Even though they threw away all the equipment drops.』

『What's the verdict on that, Leveling Junkie Bro?』

As we walked down the passage toward the stairs after leaving the Monster Room, a question came from a viewer, so I decided to answer.

"Ah, I'm not sure exactly how much it'll be, but the number of goblins we killed in the Monster Room was 336. Including the nearly 100 I killed this morning—well, before lunch—I guess I killed around 430 in total?"

Which meant we had collected about that many Magic Stones.

『430 Magic Stones... and those are all from Floor 4, right? How much is that worth?』

『I just did a quick calculation, and it'll probably easily exceed 3 million. Just the Magic Stones from the Monster Room alone, which are easy to calculate, are over 2.6 million.』

『Wha?! Over 3 million, for real?!』

『I've never seen a party earn over 3 million a day on Floor 4... well, maybe if they were lucky enough to get a Life Magic Skill Orb drop.』

No way... It wasn't just the Experience Points; the efficiency of the income was on a whole different level too.

I really owed it to Hinata-san.

"We did it, Hinata-san! It looks like we'll each have an income of at least 1.5 million yen!"

Well, a portion of that would be taken for taxes, though.

"N-no, no, no?! I can't possibly accept that! All I really did today was cast Heal! Honestly, my level went up several times just from casting Heal, so I feel terrible, like I'm a parasite to Takeo-kun. It would actually make me feel better if Takeo-kun just took all the money..."

For some reason, Hinata-san tried to decline.

"No way. I couldn't have earned this much without your heals, Hinata-san, so please accept at least half. It's a fair reward. Besides, I've been getting the potions, so I'm actually the one coming out ahead."

That was true.

In fact, seven Beginner Heal Potions had dropped today alone. I initially tried to split them with Hinata-san, but she insisted she didn't need them and let me have them.

Honestly, I wanted potions so badly I could taste it, so I was grateful.

With these, I'd be able to loop the Trap Room a few times even on days when Hinata-san wasn't around. So, naturally, I had no intention of selling the potions.

On top of that, taking all the money from the Magic Stone sales would be out of the question. Hinata-san underestimated herself way too much.

And so, after a bit of back and forth, I managed to convince Hinata-san to properly accept the money.
