[For Real] Discussion Thread for the Leveling Junkie Bro, Part 1 [Turns Out He Really Was a Madman]
Anonymous Civilian This is a thread for freely discussing the up-and-coming rookie Explorer—well, more like the Leveling Junkie Bro. Please refrain from trolling or starting flame wars. Also, let's avoid any behavior that might cause trouble for the Junkie Bro himself.
Anonymous Civilian >1 Thanks for the thread.
Anonymous Civilian >1 Thanks, thanks.
Anonymous Civilian Thanks for the thread.
Anonymous Civilian Man, I just watched Survivor Tachikawa’s stream, and it was wild lol. So much information came out all at once that I don’t even know what to start roasting him for www
Anonymous Civilian Check out that thread title lol. Has the nickname "Leveling Junkie Bro" already stuck? lol
Anonymous Civilian >6 In Tachikawa’s stream comments and on social media, everyone seems to be calling him "Leveling Junkie Bro" or just "Junkie Bro." I mean, who could have guessed that the truth behind that viral video was simply that he was feeling good? www Then again, he was screaming "H-HEAVENLYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!" from the start, so maybe we should have known lol.
Anonymous Civilian I seriously lost it at his answer lol. Tachikawa: "Why were you screaming like that?" Junkie Bro: "Because leveling up made me feel good." Tachikawa: "Wait... what??" Even after hearing the explanation, a normal person just can't wrap their head around it lol.
Anonymous Civilian Um, I don't really know much about Explorers, but is leveling up really that pleasurable?
Anonymous Civilian >9 Hah, I knew this was coming. It didn't take long for someone to ask.
Anonymous Civilian Someone pervy, please explain it to them!!
Anonymous Civilian >11 Did someone call for a pervy expert?
Anonymous Civilian >12 The pervy expert is here! We’re saved!! Please, Professor!!
Anonymous Civilian >13 Very well, I shall enlighten you. Does leveling up make you feel good? Of course it doesn't! Get a grip!!
Anonymous Civilian That forceful answer lol www
Anonymous Civilian But that’s really all there is to say. I’ve leveled up a few times myself, and it definitely didn't feel "good."
Anonymous Civilian >9 To give a slightly more detailed answer: There is certainly a sensation of power surging through you when you level up. Sometimes it even gives you a sense of omnipotence. But you're... probably... not supposed to feel enough pleasure to scream or make an ahegao face like the Junkie Bro.
Anonymous Civilian He sounds so unsure of himself lol. But I get the feeling lol.
Anonymous Civilian >17 Thank you! While I'm at it, I have one more question... Then why was the Junkie Bro feeling so good?
Anonymous Civilian >19 No idea.
Anonymous Civilian >19 It's just because the Junkie Bro is a Madman... (trembling voice)
Anonymous Civilian >19 Like he said in the stream, he’s a Leveling Junkie, surely...
Anonymous Civilian What even is a "Leveling Junkie," seriously lol. I mean, sure, you get people who grind levels like demons in RPGs, but still lol. Well, I’m relieved, at least. I'm glad he’s not the type of Madman who vents his murderous impulses by massacring Goblins. I have a friend who's currently diving into the Shinjuku Dungeon, after all.
Anonymous Civilian >23 But the Junkie Bro actually has the "Madman" Title, you know?
Anonymous Civilian >24 Stop with the comebacks lol. You're making me genuinely anxious lol.
Anonymous Civilian So, did the Junkie Bro earn "Madman" because he really is a madman? The "public recognition" condition was met because he went viral on Tachikawa’s stream and the clips spread everywhere, but the "achievement" part was something the Junkie Bro himself had to fulfill, right? Is the Junkie Bro actually a dangerous guy?
Anonymous Civilian Oh, he’s definitely dangerous lol. But let’s not jump to conclusions. The truth is, compared to the "XX Killer" types, the conditions for most other Titles are still unknown. I’m pretty sure the specific requirements for "Madman" haven't been figured out yet either. So there's a slight possibility that he isn't the kind of "madman" we’re thinking of.
Anonymous Civilian You just confirmed he's a dangerous guy anyway www
Anonymous Civilian What’s really crazy is—sure, the pleasure from leveling up and the "Madman" Title are weird—but the fact that he finished his Tutorial Period on his second day of exploring and already has the "Goblin Killer" Title is the real insanity...
Anonymous Civilian Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. And the Junkie Bro is solo, right? Finishing the tutorial in two days while solo... his pace is completely broken. If he were a former JSDF Ranger or a member of the airborne brigade, it might make sense, but the Junkie Bro was a civilian until a few days ago, right? It’s basically impossible.
Anonymous Civilian More like an "Outlier" than a "Civilian"...
Anonymous Civilian >30 Um, sorry. Specifically, what part of that is impossible? And what is this "Tutorial Period"? Does the Dungeon actually have a system like that?
Anonymous Civilian Ah, if you aren't an Explorer, you wouldn't know the specifics. Though to be honest, I only have a vague understanding myself lol. Someone explain!
Anonymous Civilian First, regarding the Tutorial Period. This refers to the time it takes for a new Explorer to go from Level 0 to Level 9. In this Level range, the Experience Points required to level up are set much lower than in later stages. That’s why Explorers call it the "Tutorial Period." To put it in numbers, the total Experience Points needed to go from Level 0 to 9 is only 2,250. To reach Level 10, however, it suddenly jumps to 10,000 for a single level. To finish the Tutorial Period, if you're hunting Level 1 Goblins, you only need to kill 225 of them. For Level 1 Slimes, it's 450. But keep in mind, those numbers are for a solo Explorer.
Anonymous Civilian Ho ho, I see, I see.
Anonymous Civilian "Only 225" lol. There's no "only" about that number www
Anonymous Civilian Well, in a video game, 225 kills is something you could do in a few hours—or even one hour—but reality is different. Anyone who’s actually fought a Goblin knows that every single fight is incredibly exhausting. It's physical, sure, but the mental fatigue is what really gets you.
Anonymous Civilian Is it really that draining? Goblins are just the weak monsters on the 1st Floor, right?
Anonymous Civilian Thinking Goblins are weak is a classic mistake made by people who don't know the Dungeon. Imagine a wild monkey that is absolutely furious and genuinely trying to kill you. You might win if you have a weapon, but you never know when it might bite or scratch you, leaving you with a major injury. If you're unlucky, it could rip your carotid artery open and kill you. Now imagine a person who was a normal high schooler until the other day having a fight to the death with that. Then imagine someone told you to kill 225 of those monkeys in two days. Could you do it?
Anonymous Civilian Ah, okay... I think I get it now. There's no way I could do that...
Anonymous Civilian To add to that, the murderous roars Goblins let out are way scarier than any monkey's screech. It really makes you realize they're "monsters." To be honest, when I was a rookie, I pissed myself. And Goblins are stronger than wild monkeys, too.
Anonymous Civilian Goblins are terrifying, then...
Anonymous Civilian Exactly. And what’s so insane about the Junkie Bro is that, if his story is true, he didn't just clear the Tutorial Period by hunting Slimes; he's been consistently killing Goblins. Slimes don’t look like living creatures, so while some people struggle to kill them, almost no one hesitates to do it. The mental burden is low. But Goblins look more like humans than monkeys do. They bleed when they die, and before they disappear, you might see them spill their guts. It’s graphic. Also, one of the requirements for the "Goblin Killer" Title is to slay 100 Goblins.
Anonymous Civilian On top of that, Goblins on the 2nd Floor are stronger than those on the 1st Floor, and they come at you in groups. Heading in there solo and killing at least 100 Goblins in two days is just beyond the capacity of a normal modern person www
Anonymous Civilian Because of things like the Status screen, too many people end up confusing the real Dungeon with a game. Well, that misconception usually gets corrected pretty fast lol.
Anonymous Civilian Seriously, regardless of whether it's monsters or not, a fight to the death grinds down your stamina and Spirit. Imagine killing 100 human-like creatures in close combat over just two days. That’s a situation that almost never happens even in a war.
Anonymous Civilian Whoa...!! The presumed-Explorer bros are getting intense...!!
Anonymous Civilian I see lol. I clearly understand how abnormal the Junkie Bro's actions were now lol.
Anonymous Civilian Still, the Junkie Bro is only just hitting the real challenge. He only just finished the tutorial, after all.
Anonymous Civilian True, true. Even if you get used to killing monsters, that sudden spike in required Experience Points is brutal. You can't level up -> you can't get stronger or earn more -> you head to a deeper Floor seeking more EXP and money -> because you haven't gotten stronger, you lose, and either your heart breaks or you die. That happens all the time.
Anonymous Civilian But you know, I get a sense of déjà vu from the Junkie Bro... Seeing someone earn multiple Titles in a short time and dive deeper solo like a total lunatic...
Anonymous Civilian >51 Are you talking about Headshot Yakuza Broooooo!!!!
Anonymous Civilian Well, it's not just the Yakuza Bro, there are others (;^^) Like Sage Saito.
Anonymous Civilian And Kurage-chan.
Anonymous Civilian I'd appreciate it if you didn't forget about Hero Yoshida.
Anonymous Civilian You mean Saint Bellwood-sama.
Anonymous Civilian Naked Armor Shinra Zenichi is clearly the strongest.
Anonymous Civilian Do you guys even know Denshiro-sensei? The ultimate Fire Roll and Fire Piston, slings, boomerangs, chakrams, and electric current. No matter how you look at it, Sensei is the strongest. Happy Science!!
Anonymous Civilian You guys are getting off-topic. This isn't a thread for debating who's the strongest.
Anonymous Civilian Give the guy a break. Don't go pitting a rookie like the Junkie Bro against the absolute top-tier Explorers in Japan...
