"Yugo!"
"Skull? And Yui? What are you doing here?"
"I’m sorry! I knew it was dangerous, but I couldn't just stay there and wait...!"
Yugo cried out in shock at the sight of the black horse charging toward them, trashing the Shadow Soldiers in its path as the young girl clung to its back.
Yui, who had arrived because she couldn't sit still and wanted to help, jumped down from Skull’s back and looked at him.
"I know what's happening! To stop this army, we have to find and defeat Dogma, don't we?"
"Yeah... but she vanished somewhere with Fee."
"It’s all right. Use my power!"
To stop the Shadow Army, they had to defeat Dogma, the one controlling them. However, when Yugo explained that Dogma had vanished along with Fee, Yui thumped her chest with determination.
"I have the Ability to See the Souls of People and Things! With that, I should be able to track them!"
"R-Really?"
"Yes! If Dogma is the one producing these Shadow Soldiers, she shouldn't have fled far. She must be hiding somewhere nearby, watching the battle unfold."
Yui could see what their eyes could not. Yugo and the others felt a surge of genuine hope at her words. She intended to use her Power to See Things with the Soul—an ability she had gained precisely because of her blindness—to root Dogma out of hiding.
"Yui... please! Find Dogma and Fee!"
"I will! I’ve watched Fee’s soul for a long time. I’ll find him, I promise!"
Yui took a deep breath and concentrated. Quietly calming her spirit, she sought out the traces of Fee's soul remaining on the battlefield and began to follow them.
"I’ve found them! Their soul traces lead straight to the Cathedral!"
"Right! Let’s move! We’re going to save Fee and take Dogma down!"
Following Yui’s lead, Yugo and the others bolted toward the Academy Cathedral. Countless Shadow Soldiers blocked their path, but they didn't slow down.
"Tch! As expected, Dogma is watching us from somewhere. She's overtly throwing her forces at us!"
"But we can't stop! Not if we want to protect everyone—and not if we want to save Fee!"
Warding off the fierce interference, Yugo and the others desperately pressed forward. As they advanced, their anger grew at the realization that the Shadow Soldiers they were defeating were originally ordinary people whose souls were being exploited after being murdered by Dogma. Suddenly, a group of frenzied soldiers lunged toward Yui.
"Yui! Look out!"
"—!"
Raiha stepped in front of Yui, intending to act as a shield against the surprise attack. But before the Shadow Soldiers could strike, they were sliced in two and dissolved into mist.
"You lot... do you have any idea whose sister you’re trying to lay hands on?"
"Brother!"
Yui broke into a joyful smile at the sight of Ryuga, who had arrived just in time. Raiha let out a heavy sigh of relief. Slaying the soldiers that continued to swarm them, Ryuga shouted to his companions.
"Go on ahead, everyone! I’ll handle the rearguard!"
"Ryuga! Sorry!"
"Don't apologize, partner. You do what you have to do—just as I'm doing now."
Ryuga cut down the Shadow Soldiers pressing in from behind with a single, fluid stroke. He literally carved a path toward the Cathedral with his next strike. Yugo gave a nod of gratitude and sprinted toward their destination with the rest of the group.
"It’s here! They’re inside!"
"Alright... everyone, we’re moving in!"
Yugo’s group blew the Cathedral doors open and rushed inside. While everyone grimaced at the strange, evil magic power permeating the air, Melt spotted a black stagnation on the floor and shouted.
"Look! Isn't that just like the swamp Dogma vanished into?"
"So they're inside that...?"
Marcos muttered under his breath and reached toward the mire, but a sharp snap of electricity repelled his hand before he could make contact. While he stood shocked by the rejection, Yugo took a deep breath and turned to his friends.
"...Sorry, everyone. It looks like this is a problem I have to handle on my own from here."
He took a step forward toward the swamp spreading across the Cathedral floor, which was faintly but certainly emitting his younger brother’s presence and magic power. Telling himself that this was the time to atone for his past sins, Yugo spoke softly.
"I'm going. I'm going to talk to Fee."
Unlike Marcos, Yugo's feet were not rejected. Instead, the bottomless mire seemed to welcome him, pulling his legs and then his entire body downward. As he was submerged in the darkness, a voice reached his ears.
